Is it just me or is the new comment functionality causing huge delays in page loading speed? I'm using a mac and have given up several times when trying to watch videos because the page takes so long to load. Been happening for the past couple weeks – no issues on any other sites…

grenache / garnacha is my favorite grape, but i stick to the french and spanish versions. i'll have to seek out some old-world-style californian or australian grenaches to explore other options.

piston honda the second time around was the worst.

Good tight show, tight like a tiger.

QOTD 1: Not too big of a punch out fan, I know I am ashamed of myself too.

QOTD 2: Love Grenach, no story to tell however. Still exploring the varietal.

  • Don Simpson

    Tight like a tiger indeed!

QOTD1: Speaking of Tigers, how about the Great Tiger? Although knocking out Bald Bull on his bull charge was always quite enjoyable.

QOTD2: Grenache is such a versatile and amazing grape. There's a reason its so widely planted. I've become a HUGE fan of Gigondas recently as it consistently pumps out awesome wines. Had several really nice 2007 Gigondas recently, which I will continue to seek out.

There's only two kinds of people I hate… Those that are intolerant… and the Dutch!! 😉

Going to have to go with Piston Honda. Another scrub but he took a bit longer to beat, which made me mad.

  • Thank you for resending this episode of WLTV.
QOTD; Sorry no real story, Grenache is a great grape. I heard it's being grown in Baja California.

  • WOW I actually had the chateauneuf du pape just a few weeks ago and I thought it was awful! Incredibly thin. 🙁 oh well. Pallets differ! I guess that counts as my QOTD as well =P

Hi, thanks for a great wineshow…but one thing that really strikes me, why don´t you have some water and bread in between the wines? To get more out of the different wines.

QOTD: I went to Chateauneuf Du Pape with my parents wenn I was about 6 years old and my parents bought tons of wine. Beautiful place too.

  • ToniV

I have to say I'm a big fan of these shorter shows, and the brown bag aspect is nice.
QOTD: I've been drinking quite a few Grenache wines lately, including a Chateauneuf du Pape, but my pallet tends to prefer the Sardinian Cannonau flavor profile (a bit darker and fuller). The last bottle I drank was 'Sileno' 2008 from Ferruccio Deiana. How many of you knew the story behind Cannonau (i.e. Sardinian Grenache)?

QOTD #1: Mr. Sandman for sure.
I could beat that game without even being punched once. That is how much I played that game back in the day GV!

QOTD1 – Never had it for my NES, but have played it a little on an emulator on my phone. No favorite villain, but you have to love the blatant stereotypes that they used!

QOTD2 – Enjoyed some grenache-based wines last week while visiting Page Springs Cellars in AZ last week… nice stop for sure.

qotd: hmm grenache, I love Priorat, tho the one I have in my cellar is Carignan then Grenache blend but still mighty tasty

  • Nik_B

I think I had more grenache than any other red grape over winter – found an excellent Spanish one from the Campo de Borja region that tasted about triple its price.

  • wiljak

Talk to any Spaniard and they'll tell you that Grenache is really Garnacha because it originally came from Spain. Or maybe Jorge Ordoñéz invented garnacha, I can't remember. Either way, my favorites come from Gratallops and Poboleda! Moltes gracies als catalanes per aixo!!! (sorry, bad catalan)
