    Don’t forget Anaconda!

QOTD: Really not of interest to me. It's probably more proportionate than people think. The camera adds on 10 lbs, though not necessarily in one place. After Vinnie had that second glass of Prosecco, that did him in a little. He even stuck his nose in the glass.

My question of the day is who produces the Prosecco, I couldn't make out what Mark said? If anyone knows, please reply.

in the illustrious words of a one stephen a. smith when refering to the likes of “sla..va med..ve..den..ko”, et al, ive got to say, “TARRIBLE” (i realize the spelling is wrong, thats just what i hear when he says it) if reference to this show. who in the hell does big pu$$y think he is? hes in perpetual character. let it go big guy, let it go…cant wait to try the restaurant though. coming to nyc in august. brutal show. sorry gv

  • scottEJ

Thanks, G. With having Big Pussy and Uncle Junior as guests, this show may have to go down as an instant classic. They'll be in Chi. this week, so I'll be looking for that Proseco.

    QOTD: I prefer her front.

  • Clarkbar27

    +1 Seafood salad. Looks great.
+1 Domestic/non-champagne sparklers over traditional Champagne. Cremant, Prosecco, American sparkling all have candidates that (to my palate) bring a lot more flavor, interesting aromatics, better bubbles, etc than most all the French N/V champage at ~50 bones.

We recently started pouring two glasses for all our sparklers, one flute because it *looks pretty* and one red wine glass (bowl shape) because the nose really leaps out when you can get your nose in there.

QOTD: “Big” enough that it somehow has a place among wine geeks talking about pinot grigio.

Not in this country, or at least not in the general media. However, I still like the expression and wish it was ubiquitous.

  • cellarrat5

As long as I do not have to respect her portfolio of work I believe we can come to some modicum of an agreement.

  • wizzardsblog

Vincent is a blast, brilliant QOTD 😀

  • Allan

“No no i dunno you said it, how do i know, you said i'm funny, how the fuck am i funny, what the fuck is so funny about me, tell me, tell me what's funny?”

  • Allan

Gary looks like a regular Don Corleone.!.!.!.!.!.! 🙂

The Don Corleone of wine??? Anyone?

  • Allan

Come on, we're having fun here, or have i missed something?

  • Allan

    LOL!!!

  • Allan

    Pussy brought the thunder!

  • murso

wow. Extra XXL pazzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. (I watched, but PURELY for the spectacular rubbernecking phenomenon of a 30 minute trainwreck. It was awesome.) Mr. Snooky on the left – method actor extraordinaire, I guess, but the definitive performance of an entire disgusting demographic. Emmy, sir. I'm sorry guys, I just couldn't hold my tongue on this.
As you may guess, I'm not a Sopranos guy. And this is not a wine person's WLTV ep. The abyssymal manners, and you dancing around (not all that well) some schlubby product, w/ the kind of vaguest of 'facts'/ specs/ hard info is the kind of stuff I'd thrown reps out of my store for for the past 13 years. I live for real info on real wine – that's just been my job. I'm just not into the schilling /marketing angle of it. It's completely populated by tools. Sadly this wine prob moves like weiners at a baseball game. (I'd prob HAVE to sell it (like the detestable VOGA) , bowing to market demand, and the public's oh so intelligent passions.
I guess that's ok, love GV, but I can only think of how we (America) are sooooo F'd.
    eh… drink a buncha wine.

  • That has to be one of my favorite shows ever. Awesome stuff 🙂

    QOTD: HUGE!

  • RANDINTHECITY

    GARY!!
    Wow..big trouble w/Disgust and leaving comments… 🙁

    QOTD: Not THAT big….

  • Zach

Wow I hope Vincent Pastore was in character because he really knows how to come off as loud, annoying, rude and ignorant. I give this episode 68 points… I really wish Gary would not do crap like this.

  • teckdeck2008

Wow that episode was hilarious. not all that wine technical but still awesome none the less.
Qotd: J-Lo's but is big in comparison to old school hollywood, but now kim kardashian wins the biggest booty contest. Almost unnaturally big…seriously.

  • He Gary

Interesting setup – heavy marketing. Though the wines sounded good I'd never buy anything like that related to a show, TV personality, sportsman etc. It looks like you had fun and there's plenty of good banter so an enjoyable show.

    QOTD: big enough.

    Cheers
    Andrew

  • Anthony

Agree with you GV the perception on the wines may turn off some people BUT i tasted the wine at a party where we do a flight of Pinot Grigio and frankly the Sopranos Friuli totally wiped out the other wines that were even higher priced… the wine is QUALITY I think the Sopranos have a great line up no pun intended!!

  • Anthony

    i picked up Foss Marai

  • Anthony

I called Wine Library in NJ Prosecco will be available at Wine Library they are ordering for me

  • RobinC

It's running neck and neck with your mouth.

  • big_al

That was totally awesome!! Looks like you have a new friend for life. 🙂
As for the QOTD….. I think I better not go down that road.

  • Capt_M

Absolutely hilarious!! What a great bunch! An instant classic episode, sincerely said, from this humble vayniac in Panama. QOTD: I have a wife that looks quite a bit like JLo, though mine is not from the Bronx, or has such a remarkable butt, but wife has quite a lovely backside too.

  • Capt_M

BTW, Gary, when are you going to taste the late harvest tannat?

  • plcb

    That was too much fun!!!!!!

    PA carries some Sopranos wine.

    QOTD: Latin curves

  • Randall

Or especially the ‘abused ex-wife flick’… I think it was “Enough”… 2 HOT!!

  • Gurumayi2

    Classic! What a character

    QOTD: Plead the 5th

  • Oakmon’s BF

I?ve never watched the Sopranos, I don?t watch much TV in general. Vince was a real character which made for an entertaining show. As always, nice job Gary. It always worries me when you respond to a negative comment and suggest you?ll change. Please don?t change.

  • Allan

    “Woke up this mornin'……”

  • JiminAtlanta

This was a show where I wish I had been there. The food, wine, and conversation were all great. QOTD – J Lo's butt is not an area of expertise for me so I will not provide an answer.

  • adam_riley

I've been a lurker for the last couple of weeks but had to come out for this one. Definitely enjoyed the episode. After reading a few of the comments, it looks like people have some pretty extreme opinions about this episode. Here's mine- I run into people like Vinny all the time. They think I'm weird for being able to smell peaches or cranberries in my glass. The thing is that there are a ton of people out there who like drinking wine but don't know about the exciting nuances you can really smell and taste. It's Gary's job to bridge the gap between those people and those of us who do enjoy all those details. Gary's ability to do that is why WLTV is such a great show.

  • benfromboston

    qotd – just right

  • Marianthe

Epic Show Gary King Kudos now please direct the Vaynernation where and when can we grab some of the Sopranos product ? Imagine that it is available but the one store that i knew carried is out of stock and only cartried 2 types…Its very cruel to tout a wine and then keep it for yourself 🙂

  • Hgorilla43

i tasted the pinot grigio several months ago and the consensus was that it was unimpressive.

  • Mike Vey

GREAT show, very entertaining! Unfortunately I can't get this wine while I'm out in CO, but I'll definitely look it up when I get home to Jersey

  • ND

    Thanks everyone!

  • pi

qotd- did you see her on SNL a couple of months back? the PERFECT size

  • ed-d

Best question of the day, ever!

  • Valentin

I liked the whole Mafia setting: Vincent “the wrench” and the capo at the end of the table.

  • Phil G

    QOTD – ummm, big enough?

  • CHICAGO MARK

My wife and I just had a bottle of the pinot grigio..it was awful…lemon and water.

  • Mike in C-town

Not entirely sure what to think about the ep…I'll watch part 2 and comment then. Sure was alot of pop culture references (of course).

QOTD: little big for me, not too big because it's…just…out..of…reach

  • Paulie

GV, you got me all hot on the Prosecco. No where to be found in Vermont. Did you have any fun?
