Any Riesling fans, if they have not already, should go out and get and read “Reading Between the Wines,” by Terry Thiese. It’s a lovely book, and 3/4ths is spent in some way celebrating German Rieslings.

Good show. I love you pronouncing the names of old German vineyards. Did you know that in the Rheingau region the “1″ stands for “Erstes Gewächs” (“First Growth”) whereas it stands for “Grosses Gewächs” (“Great/Prime Growth”) in the rest of Germany? It allocated by the association VdP to wines from the top vineyard sites.

QOTD: Every riesling I have bought always seems to be from Mosel. And Riesling is my next white wine to search out a big knock out type wine!! That Leitz sounds like it would be great!!

by the way, you can´t compare a 2008 Keller with a 2009 Leitz. sure thing the 2009 takes the lead! 2009 has been a toptop year for the riesling!
