  • Rajiv Ayyangar

Great to see you behind the table again! I’ve misplaced my Vayniac gear but it’s good to see you still have the wristband.

    QOTD: 95 Musar!

    Here’s some Vayniac Bingo 🙂

  • Rajiv Ayyangar

Good to see you guys here. I still don’t like wine 🙂

  • BigTurk

Super pumped! Decided to register an account just to comment on this instead of just lurking.
Will have to find a special bottle to open, find some good cheese and grill some venison to commemorate the occasion!
    Thanks for this GV.

  • Jeff M

Great seeing you back at that table, I almost got out my wristband just to watch! 2010 Shafer Hillside Select.

  • Matt

    welcome home, GV…welcome home.

  • Recent follower here….liking your style…..and your work.

  • Kevin Burg

Thanks Gary! Great stuff. Since I last watched your show I’ve left the wine industry and my wine selection has taken a big hit… my new favorite/best (for price) wine since we parted has been the Segura Viudas Rose/Brut. I truly appreciate the show and I am excited to step it up and drink better vino now!!!!!

  • drt999

Hard to believe it’s been ten years since the last one; as always, I enjoyed it and learned something.

  • Phil

Man seeing this episode really brought a smile to my face. Miss the Vaniacs. Great seeing you at that table again GV.

QoTD: Wood Family “Big Wood” and “Muey Bueno” Zin and Cab Sav. A small local winery in our growing wine region of Livermore CA. We have more than just Wente out here. ??

  • Brian White

Fandamtastic! Good to see you sir on WLTV!

Hoping to see again within 5 years! Brings back memories of The Woodlands Wine Week in Houston taking you to and from the event downtown.

    QoTD….

Geeking it out in the caves of Del Dotto…..sure it’s marketing genius…but it’a also pretty good wine! Going at the first appointment on a December Sunday morning is hard to beat! Great wine, pizza, chocolate!

    Love the wristband btw!

  • ex_Cuse88

Good to see you Gary. Thank you for one of the best 50th Birthday gifts I could ask for. I owe my passion for wine all to you. Your show got me started 10 years ago. My favorite episode is a tie between every one with your Dad. Back then I was mostly a “Lurker.”
QOTD: 2009 Domaine Huet Vouvray Moelleux 1ere Trie Clos du Bourg

  • BrooklynPaul

Thanks for that GV. Fun to watch. Loved the self analysis on the palate change. Hey, it happens.

Would love to try the Verite, btw.

QOTD: to be honest, too may great wines to list. We still do offlines and the generosity and sharing from our group is amazing. I’ve had some absolutely stunning wines these past 5 years

  • Olga Lauren Barasoain

Love this so much …. very excited to have you back!!!

  • philoxera

Where’s Mott……yea cant have a show without Mott!

….oh…..good to have yea back btw

  • paryb

Copied this over from YouTube because I miss you vayniacs!! // this episode had everything but Mott! Love it buddy! I can’t think what the best wine I’ve had in 5 years is, but had Jen Beloz’s “The Prisoner” the other week and it was fab!?

  • John Duich

Good to have you back kid, you look old, but damn it, so do I. Get back in the game, I miss you, we miss you. The world is a better place with you making shows.

  • cellarrat5

    Tease!

  • NY Pete

    dude!

  • kingokra

Seeing you do #1001 was like finding an amazing bottle in your cellar that you forgot about. As soon as you pop it, give it a sniffie-sniff and a whirl, all those great memories come flooding back. Then you sit back and think, “This is just as awesome as I remember it being when I bought a case so many years ago.” Thanks for all the wine knowledge and thunder over the years. Great to see you again and hope you’ll find the time to do some more in the near future!

  • mloagogo

Gary Veeeee, oh how I’ve missed you & WLTV! What a pleasant surprise getting the email “He’s Back!” You look great, kid, age has agreed with you. Please keep bringing us the thunder with future episodes!

QOTD: I’ve definitely fallen hard for the funky, “natural” wines in the past 5 years. My fave bottle might be the 2013 Martian Mourvedre from Broc Cellars, an awesome small urban winery in Berkeley I’ve had the pleasure of working for during the past couple years.

  • Norman Gennaro

You got me started on wine Gary. Really miss you doing these shows. Love the other work you do but these shows were always the best.

Too many wines since then. The best were the ones I could try and taste along side of you and the show. Please come back.

  • Adrian van Velsen vvWine.ch

Wow, cool that you are back! After 5 years Garry is still the same, very entertaining, just a few more gray hairs… QOTD: Best 5 wines (one per year) since your last episode where 2013, Damoy, Chambertin Grand Cru, 2005 Ch. Rayas Rouge, 1998 Henri Bonneau Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Speciale, 2001 Aldo Conterno, Barolo Bussia “Cicala”, 1985 Ch. Cheval-Blanc…

  • Welcome back, Gary. So cool to have Mischa watching you do it. With a new site, hopefully this will mean more episodes down the line.

Hearing about the investing into wine, it brought me back to when I got the 05 Chateau Sansonnet from WL and held onto for a while. Was fun to watch the price move around. I ended up drinking it with some family on a Christmas vacation about 4 years ago and it was awesome.

Qotd: I can’t remember the name of it, but in 2009, I bought two bottles of an awesome CDP. Opened one up with my brother who was just starting to get into wine while I was staying with him to freelance at an agency in town. Held onto the other bottle for 5 years and opened it up with him again. Was so cool to see the difference.

  • NJStickist

Welcome back! PLEASE do more of these, even if only once a month or so. Believe it or not, we drank our LAST bottle of your Wine Club wine yesterday, before I got your e-mail. How weird is that!

  • Jim Karegeannes

Welcome back Gary. 10 years?? Yikes.
I killed a lot of time Friday afternoons watching the latest WLTV episode.
Good times and worth every minute.

Best wine? – 2009 Domaine Pattes Loup Chablis 1er Cru Montmains
2007 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Demuth Vineyard
2007 Domaine Léon Barral Faugères Jadis
So many wines in the past 5 years – those are just from 2015.

Glad to see you back in the saddle – keep ’em coming

  • Evan Davis

Great to have you back in the saddle. I was so excited when I saw this because I only discovered you late in 2010, and then a few months later WLTV ended. So you can imagine my disappointment, I had just been getting into wine after a trip to Napa in 2009.

But! Then you started putting out AskGaryVee, and I was so excited! You even answered one of my questions in episode 58! Thank you! Fast forward to 2016, I’m now a Certified Sommelier, and work as a wine consultant in a huge retail shop in Austin, TX. I love my job, and my life, and the courage to change it was sparked by watching THE SHOOOOOOOOW! So yeah, thanks for everything you do, and thanks for getting back in the saddle. I could tell it was on your mind from a few mis-starts on ASK GARY VEE. 😉

Anyways, great show, and my best wines of 2015 were:

Willi Schaefer 2001 “Graacher Himmelreich Spatlese”, Mosel, Germany
Emmerich Knoll 2013 Pfaffenberg “Selection” Riesling, Wachau, Austria
Pierre Peters 2006 “Les Chetillons” Champagne
Marquis d’Angerville 2009 Volnay 1er Cru “Les Caillerettes”
Corison 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

  • Evan Davis

He is doing the ASKGARYVEE show! It’s a different focus, but the same amount of passion. Check it out if you didn’t already know about it.

  • Evan Davis

ex_Cuse88 Clos du Bourg is great juice! Glad people are drinking Vouvray. Its such a great wine that gets overlooked.

  • Evan Davis

Hey Brian White, I know what you mean about Del Dotto and their marketing Shenanigans. But I agree with you, I liked some of their wines, and I think the Amphora aging actually does yield a very different texture in the wines. Their Zin is my favorite

  • Evan Davis

Kevin! Your name is Kevin Burg, as in Burgundy! You should drink lots of Burgundy!

  • Evan Davis

    95 Musar????? Nice choice 😉

  • Evan Davis

    Champagne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Evan Davis

    Nice! Kickin it old school!

  • Dominus

Wowwwww, my man is back. I’ll be back to watch. Need to hit the gym and get psyched before settling down to watch and enjoy.

    Welcome back G-Man.

  • Evan Davis

Anders, her Kronos vineyard is ballin’!

  • Stay on this site and exploire the wines, some are actually still up for grabs here and there. Try , taste and diversify. Welcome to crazy 🙂

  • Yup, I’m the Baller, just ask the King, Cellarrat, Dom , Lisa S Melbali, LL, Castello and the rest of Facebook Vaniaycs 😀

  • Skip the workout

  • Mark Slattery

What a fantastic surprise yesterday! Loved every second of this episode, it felt like old times, thank you so much GV!

QOTD- 2000 Pontet Canet, 2011 Vista Hills Treehouse Vineyard Willamette Valley PN and thank you so much for turning me on to the Il Fiume di Lava from Passopisciaro which I loaded up on and spaced out over the last few years, absolutely delicious stuff!

  • Holy Schnikies! Welcome back my friend! Wine Vlogging hasn’t been the same without you. Dare I say it’s been a pretty vast wasteland with only a couple of us (literally like me and one other guy, James the Wine Guy, it seems like) even daring to continue it. I knew there was a reason I delayed recording my next series of shows until this week. I’ll give you the shout out and wear the WLTV swag.

QOTD: Too many great wines to pick just one. I’ve been exposed to so many in the last five years. But if I had to pick one that brings some of the best memories with it? 1962 Vega Sicilia Unico. Besides the oldest I’ve ever had. It was at a great dinner and I all I wanted to do really is just smell it.

  • Beeper

Wow. I can’t believe how much I’ve missed this. You still have it. Thanks for that little taste, friend.

    Oh yeah…QOTD: ’95 Chateau Latour

  • Wayne Clark

So good to see you behind the table again Gary.

One of the tastiest bottles I have had recently was a 2008 Dehlinger Claret.

  • carloritschl

Ahhhhhhh I got chills hearing that intro again.

Awesome hearing Misha talk as well!

QOTD: Not sure of the wine, but probably a few too many house liters in Italy 🙂 More for the memories, but the wine tasted pretty dang good at the time.

  • howlr5

My favorite wine lately is 2004 Chateau Duhart-Milon. Classic, elegant and timeless. Thanks again Gary for episode 1001,you need to bring back laid back Friday and the Big Ass Glass.

  • Angela T Carlson

Thanks for making my day. Will encourage my colleagues to take a look and please may we have more new episodes. Please!!!

Hmm, tastiest recent bottles: 2010 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Himmelreich Eiswein. Incredible balance of fruit & acidity.
2012 Clemens-Busch Grosses Gewachs Marienburg Falkenlay Riesling: Full bodied, well balanced, lovely minerality, great finish

  • Dominus

Ahhh, I have goosebumps. Thanks for coming back and reviewing these super premiums wines since we can now consider ourselves “hi-rollers” and procure one of these gems.

And yes, you have always told it like it is and we appreciate you “keeping it real” which accounts for your dedicated following.

QOTD: Geez, I can’t remember what I had yesterday let alone the last 5 years. I know. A good friend of mine who raved about and loved Penfolds Grange died suddenly so to celebrate his life and to honor him, I took my lone bottle of 1998 Grange to a dinner with friends and it blew everyone’s socks off. So unctuous and delicious after 15+ years.

Just to keep the Vayniacs appeased during your episodes.

    P.S. You’re looking good. 😉

  • Dominus

I’m here. Just late to the party. I didn’t get the email 🙁 Someone pinged me on Twitter. 😉
