QOTD: Never been to Alaska, but I’m a big fan of cement. Its ability to stabilize load bearing structures is unmatched.

    Great Ep!

Another good show GV. I really liked the blending aspect because I have not been involved in this part of the wine world yet (drank plenty of blends, just not watched them happen).

QOTD – Never been to Alaska, but I really want to. I thought that she said she went to LA to find “some men”. I think very little about cement.

QOTD- Yes, it one of the most beautiful places in the world. It’s nature at it’s best.

Thank you for a great show, your guess today are awesome. I think the Santa Rita Hills area is one of the best places for pinot noir. The wine, the people are all down to earth. I have had the pleasure to visit the area and it was one of the best places to go.

Thanks again for a great show.

Very interesting and educational episode. I really enjoyed “learning” about an aspect of the wine industry. I would like to see more episodes of this style. Maybe you could take one day a week or every couple of weeks to explain part of the wine world other than the tasting and retail end. Thanks for all you do.

As a sidebar, I have to comment on how good the Jet D is going to be this year. Sheppard and Bart Scott are huge additions and if they get Leonhard its all over. QOTD – Never been to Alaska but cement is great.

I never been to Alaska and i don’t like cement. Sounds like a good title for a book or a Johnny Cash tune.

QOTD: Yes, went to Alaska for a cruise. That state is awesome. Did a little flyfishing during the salmon run — one of my favorite memories.

A fascinating show that definately shows the ‘real’/’human’ nature of the US wine industry (something that isn’t always conveyed on an international level).

QOTD: no, but would absolutely love to

    Cheers

  • Cool show concept, but I would have loved it if it was a bit more informative on the blending process and the reasoning behind certain decisions.

If this show was a wine here’s how I would review it:

83 – Hinting at good components but lacking focus. A little drawn out in the mid. I like where it was going but needs some concentration. After experiencing it, it’s gone (short finish).

QOTD: Never been to Alaska, but with (gasp – should I mention it?) ‘Global Warming’ it could be the world’s next great wine growing region!

QOTD2: which varietal creates that flavor??? =)

Unfortunately Skagway is my only Alaska experience, tourist city, but I know it to be a great state.

  • Very interesting show! I have to say that Gary V was coming on a little strong and stepping on the answers of the guests a bit too often for me. That said, again, still very interesting!

QOTD: No, and cement is great.

thanks for all the great comments — Peter and I had a great time on the show and if you are ever in our neighborhood please stop by for a visit.

One person asked if we have a distributor in Texas. No we don’t but we are actively looking for one and would love any help or suggestions.

  • …. the show seemed to get a little bogged down in the middle, but pulled it round at the end and finished on a high. Best 2 parter for some time.

QOTD – Nope, nowhere near. I’d like to say maybe one day, but I have my doubts.

Great guests on the show, Gary. Very passionate and knowledgeable. QOTD1: Have not been to, but would love to some day. QOTD2: Cement is a force we know little about, and once we fully grasp what cement is up to it will be too late. No no, I dont like cement at all!

Gary, you got somewhat annoying in the middle of the show – it wasn’t supposed to be about you, it was about your guests. But overall, the two part show was very good and very interesting.

QOTD: I have never been to Alaska, but my wife went there many years ago before I knew her. I’d like to go there some day, though.
