Ok just gotta say Michael Jackson is a freakshow nowadays. Can’t imagin him doing anything live that would be worth a dime to see. Back in the day though he was the king.

I remember having Delinger pinots in the mid 80’s that I really liked. But have not had much in the way of “older” wine to speak of.

Another fun episode, I wouldn’t really call it “edited” since you didn’t remove anything.

I’m a fan of the flip cam episodes.. but I think sometimes you it would be good to sit a tiny bit further away from the camera to help it focus.

QOTD – I would have to say the first wine that really got me into serious wine… 2000 Yvonnick Debray Clos Vougeot Grand Cru

Hey Gary, I know you didn’t taste them on the show but I’m curious which particular Pinots you got to try from Martinelli and Williams Selyem and what you thought of them (you flashed the bottles so quickly I couldn’t make out what vineyards they were).

QOTD: Over the last year I’ve been lucky enough to be over when my dad has opened up a 1988 Château Mouton Rothschild, a 1988 Chateau Margaux, a 1989 Leonetti Cellar Cabernet, and a couple bottles of 1995 Delille Chaleur Estate (Red). In my opinion the 2 Washington wines kicked the snot out of both first growth Bordeauxs. The Mouton Rothschile was earthy and interesting, but I’ve had $30 bottles that I enjoyed more so unfortunately it was a little disappointing. The Margaux was smooth and tasty, but a little lighter than I would have expected. The Leonetti and Delille Chaleur Estates were some of the silkiest most well balanced cabs I’ve come across, beautiful wines…didn’t get to taste them side by side but I’d say top honors probably go to the Leonetti.

QOTD1: This is a HUGE, HUGE shout out to Ed from the ThunderCruise- so many old great wines…my fav was the early 80’s Caymus Special Select; but their was 20yo Mondavi, insignia, Grange, Dominus….thank you again Ed for sharing your very special wines with us, we loved them and loved that you shared their enjoyment with us. Here’s to ThunderCruise 2010!!!!

Glad you showed a 1988 Bordeaux – that is my anniversary year and I try to collect those wines for special occasions. Looks like an interesting event you attended as well.

QOTD – 1981 Chateau Palmer that was oxidized – sad day. 1988 Marchesi di Barolo that was fantastic. 1988 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe that was very good.

QOTD: I had a 1995 Château La Nerthe with family lately that rocked the house, and a 1995 Carruades de Lafite with my fiancée that was pretty disappointing.

Great show and awesome classic wines to taste.

i have 1 bottle of Chateau Lafete rothschild, 1972, thought u might b interested.

qotd: tried an 81 Petrus maybe a week ago, and that bottle was quite a letdown.
