QOTD, I’m always a Ferrari fan, but I’d like to see the RBR cars do well this year. Although for sentimental purposes I want Rubens Barrichello to win a championship.

I’m very interested in the sauvignon blanc…especially if it can be found for $13+/-. What happened to the rating of the last wine at $50?

QOTD: I love F1. I’ll go with Vettel just because I think he has talent. Constructors I could care less about, but I imagine that Braun-Mercedes will get it. I miss Schuey and Ferrari!

I’ve read the books on the Mondavi Family. This was cool, seeing someone from the Peter Mondavi side of the clan. Everything seems to be about the Robert Mondavi side of the family.
I can’t wait to revisit the Charles Krug wines (esp the SB)

I live in So Cal and I found the Sauvignon Blanc at Vons/Pavilions for $15 bones. I’m looking forward to throwing it down my neck.

I had the opportunity to read ?The House of Mondavi: The Rise and fall of an American wine Dynasty? by Julia Flynn Siler. Great book, tells in detail [although mostly of the late Robert Mondavi (A Genius!) branch] the incredible story of this amazing, hot-blooded, passionate and genius wine family that made a tremendous impact on the rebirth of the American wine industry in the past century, helping propel it onto the wine world stage for good.

What a wonderful followup to yesterday’s history, and an understanding of today’s process.

Have not been a fan of California Sauvignon Blanc’s but will be glad to try the Charles Krug 2007.

I’m catching up on some episodes from last week. Nice follow-up to the Part 1 interview. Peter Mondavi really seems like a great guy and I’m going to find the Sauvingnon Blanc to give it a try.

QOTD – I never watched formula 1, a little NASCAR but that’s about it.

QOTD: Jensen Button will win the F1 drivers championship this year with Brawn GP winning the constructors championship. Incidentally, I am an avid F1 fan and don’t follow many of the “stick and ball” sports, like Peter Mondavi. What’s up with Ferrari this year? Did all the brains go to Brawn?

I visited Charles Krug in 1993 on my first visit to Napa. We were treated very well when we were there and the prices have remained within reason unlike many other Napa-based producer. Hats off to Charles Krug!

This was a wonderful interview! I knew nothing about Krug or Mondavi before this, and now I need to go find as much of this as I can!

QOTD: All I know about Formula 1 is that it’s second to Rally on the list of interesting race types. With NASCAR at the bottom, of course.

QOTD. If I have to put my money on somebody that would be Jenson Button and Brawn GP. Ferrari with Massa and Red Bull with Vettel are going to be tougher competitors as the year progresses but Button and Brawn GP have to big an advantage right now.

QOTD – F1 fan since the days of Senna/Prost, this year it has to be Button. I would love to see Rubens take the championship but I think the car suits Jenson a bit more. Odd since he has been so frustratingly inconsistent in his career, even with the few good cars he has had. I went to the first 5 of 7 GPs in Indy but heard about the Michelin fiasco and skipped the parade race. F1 for the past 10 years or so has struck me as being dominated by dynastic teams – Benetton, Williams, McLaren, Ferrari, Renault. The past couple of years have been a bit more level but Ross Brawn is a master at the dynastic crushing of competition. Losing Honda and taking a more dominant role with Brawn will allow him to continue in that vein. Vettel is definitely the odds-on favorite to dominate the next five years, and the Red Bull cars are Newey-designed. Long post, haven’t tried Krug for some time but will definitely go find the Sauv Blanc.

GV – you are on to something – I wonder if you can have a series of episodes called the Legends of Wine. This was a very engaging 2 episodes and I enjoyed the interaction.
