  • Good show, The begining did not have the energy I expect but the QOTD was great.

Yes we love our lions out here in Detroit!

  • Now this is what I was expecting. Educating me about whites is what I really wanted from this show. Just got my 4 bottles of the Pinon Cuvee Tradition. I watched the show again after drinking the wines and I agree completely. A great wine for the price. This from a person that has hidden from whites for years now. I had such awful experience with California whites that I just stopped drinking white wine.

I must say my sister, who is not a drinker at all, sampled the wine and said it had a fruit roll-up candy taste. I never ate fruit roll-ups so can’t say for sure. I think it reminded me of the candy, bit-of-honey. And yes, it had one of the most beautiful nose I’ve ever experienced. I’d wear it as a perfume. I must add however that it is a bit lighter than I’d prefer. However it is an extremely well-balanced wine.

Thanks for helping me appreciate white wine again.

    You are a wonderful man.

QOTD: The Seattle Sockeye, Ultimate Frisbee team. If you don’t know what Ultimate is, look it up. It’s amazing.

  • As far as white wines go, I have mainly stuck to Rieslings, SB’s and Chardonnays; I had never tried a Vouvray and this episode got my curiosity juices flowing. I went out to the manor house cellar in Ny and decided to buy a Vouvray and realized why I hadn’t tried a Vouray yet. There were only two Vouvrays out of maybe 300 wines. It seems that Vouvray isn’t yet as popular as other whites and it’s availability is limited.

Thanks Gary, you keep encouraging me to try different types of wines and I really appreciate it.

QOTD: My favorite teams are Dillinger, Death By Roo Roo and The Law Firm (Improv teams at the UCB theater in NY)

QOTD: SV Werder Bremen (soccer) – for almost 25 years now.

As I am currently living in Switzerland I am also supporting FC Zürich. It’s Champions League time – we are playing Real Madrid tomorrow evening and I have got tickets, baby!

Good Vouvray (and I agree with your opinion of them) is the 2008 Cuvee de Silex Domaine des Aubuisieres at $17.95 Canadian. What’s that, $15 U.S.? Good wine, loved it right away. A good cheap Chenin Blanc, really cheap, is the KWV South African one – I think it’s under $10 Canadian, if memory serves. Screwtop and all. It’s simple and truly wonderful, in my opinion.

Sorry, I’m always so many episodes behind. I let them collect in my e-mail then watch them when I can do it RELAXED, though I used to enjoy watching your show on the subway coming into work.

Favourite team? My son’s A level hockey team out of West Mall in Etobicoke (Toronto suburb). They were fantastic, we had such talent, such an outrageous coach, and a great family base in the stands. We ended up coming second in Toronto in 2008.

Sorry but I am way behind on watching episodes of WLTV, so I just watched #719. Haven’t tried any Vouvray and unfortunately these three are not available here in PA.

QOTD: I know Gary will hate this but I am a fan and season ticket holder of the New England Patriots. I have been making the 5 hour drive from Pennsylvania up to Foxborough to attend the games since 1995.
