lines of the day – ‘This is the first episode in wine library TV where Mott is wearing shorts’ and ‘So lacking in backbone…it’s a Jellyfish wine’

This episode was much better than the previous two NYC Week ones. The sound was better and the comments from the guests complemented GV’s’ Also a bit of Jets banter always helps!

Getting caught up. I am a little behind.
    Is that a fauxhawk?
    QOTD: Hoping for 7.

Interesting show – the Aglianico intrigued me. I’ve had a couple of Aglianicos and I really liked them. But they were a good bit more than 12 bones.

QOTD: 16 (and he’ll get injured – sorry)

I need to try an Aglianico since I’ve never heard of it before watching this episode. I must expand my palate.

In my first week of fantasy football, my opponent has Mark Sanchez. After next weekend, I will cheer for Mark Sanchez to do well.

Great show! I like the panel tasting idea, but don?t spill the beans on aglianico or else the best bargain in wine will get pricy. De Maio Norante Contado is not only good now, you can leave it the cellar for another 5-10 years and it will be even better. The really great aglianico wines like Mastroberardino Radici will age 30 years. But even cheap ($8) IGT tenuta Ponte generic aglianico will not go downhill for 5 years. The pink bunny of red wine!

I don?t know Gianni Doglia moscato d?Asti, but if you were in a ?sauna of a hot box? as guest Rich Ritter said, you were drinking it too warm. No need to chill M d?A down to Champagne temperature, but below 60 degrees F is best. And in response to another show guest?s question, ?What would you eat with this?? M d?A is a great brunch wine and a fantastic dipper for those tooth-crunching biscotti!

QOTD: Maybe 20 before he goes out to injury. As another prize winning ex-USC NFL quarterback put it in a recent SI interview, college QBs don?t understand what it?s like to get hit by an NFL blitzer until it happens.

You introduced me to the Di Majo Norante Contado Aglianico a couple of years ago, Gary… It absolutely blew me away, and found a special place in my heart (see http://forums.winelibrary.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3051)! And, it remains one of my all time favorite wines to this day! Thanks, man! 🙂
