i love this guy! i love this guy! i love this guy! made me that much more pumped for my move to brooklyn in a few months.

  • I want you in North Dakota. So, does Brooklyn Brewery ship?

  • Tom

Fantastic Show! Love the beer focus. Garrett is amazing. The slow food founder is an impressive thing for the resume and I can't wait for the Oxford Companion, it will go on the shelf with Jancis!

After this show I don't know what is going to go with dinner tonight. I love the Piemonte and can't decide between . . . barbera, dolcetto, or beer from Baladin! Fun stuff and love the mid-west shout to New Glarus. We are making our quarterly Wisconsin pilgramage from Chicago to pick up Spotted Cow and Dales Pale Ale this weekend. Chicago is doing some fun beer stuff now too! Check out Half Acre and Metropolitan.

  • Absolutely AWESOME episode. Wish I could answer the QOTD. Haven't had Brooklyn products yet 🙁 Do you sell in Wisconsin?? Thanks for the mention of New Glarus – Spotted Cow, Fat Squirrel, YUMMMM!!

  • im a tool fanatic and yes it probobly is influenced by my all out obseesion for music and for that album in particular and i am a genius so thanks bipolar and hormonal with a high iq and maynard tool i should say as my musical staple

I cannot say I am a Tool fanatic; however I can say it is a staple in my musical tastes. I find your posts to be interesting and disjointed. But I suppose many people who have high IQ’s in past history have been disjointed. If you could choose a favorite album/song by our collective favorite artist, which one would it be and why?

  • hi, 10,000 days would be the one. i love each cd by them however if forced to only have one it would be without a shadow of a doubt 10.000 days. it is zenith it is truth it has sadness and reality of the state of humainity it has its biblical infleuene blatent and unforgiving and many tool fans havent a clue just how much influence christianity influence maynards lyrics . He is of the divine and his voice is a force of the gods. what is your favorite and ditto to your request of me. nice to meet you and yes im a bit disjointed many of the times but i appreciate you seeing the genius tha i am. lol love the dotcomgal. shery chobot lucyfuer@gmail.com this is my frequented email. hope to hear from you asap.  —————– Original Message —————–From: To: Sherry jadeanchobot (lucyfuer@myspace.com)Date: Mar 17, 2010 2:39 PMSubject: [wltv] Re: Beer Tasting at Brooklyn Brewery with Garrett Oliver ? Hello again. I have a very difficult time pinpointing my favorite album, but if I had to I would say my favorite across the years has been Lateralus. I agree with you about the influence of Christianity in Maynard?s lyrics 100%. It seems he holds a dichotomous view of organized religion. Based off his lyrics I would have to say he hates how it turns people into sheep on some occasions, without question, without reason etc. However, his mother (before she was paralyzed) as far as I can tell may have been quite religious in her own right. Regarding why Lateralus is my favorite, that song in particular and many others on that album inspire me in ways that I did not know music could. Reaching out to embrace the random, embracing one’s emotions, motives thoughts and beliefs etc. Watching the weather change (socio-culturally and literally) has always been a “hobby” of mine if you can call it such a thing. ?Hooker with a penis? has always been a go to example when discussing various bands “changing” or “selling out”. So much apt social commentary, perhaps not as much as 10,000 days, but none the less ground breaking, like all their albums. Hope to hear from you soon.

  • hey just got your message yes lateralus is epic i love the grudge and reflections and the whole fucking cd rocks. and hooker with a penis is the bomb as i djed for uconn for 4 years it was a way for me to tell the world to suck it if they were assmuchers and an outlet. maynard is an egomaniac but a genius and so is the whole band im friends with adam jones on face book and he is a sweetie pie the nicest humbleist guy. look forward to chatting why dont you friend me up on facebook or twitter. see you in the wine library soon love thegotcomgal sherry chobot lucyfuer mistress of aftermath rock peaxce—————– Original Message —————–From: To: Sherry jadeanchobot (lucyfuer@myspace.com)Date: Mar 19, 2010 12:46 PMSubject: [wltv] Re: Beer Tasting at Brooklyn Brewery with Garrett Oliver ? wow that was a great episode.
qotd: I'm familiar w brett when it comes to wine, but wouldn't be able to tell ya how much to put in a beer. 1 idea would be to let me know where I can find your brew around Baltimore

  • richardvinifera

    Great guest

  • I would love to go there. I love Brooklyn brewery.

  • Garrett Z

QOTD: more brett! more lacto! more pedio! MORE SOUR!
Seriously, I think that any brewery not getting on the sour bandwagon right now is going to miss the next big beer paradigm shift.

  • Nik_B

    Awesome guest and great show!

    QOTD – real ale

  • Costumers not only find good house design, also looking for fresh and health nature at that real estate 🙂

QOTD: So it’s been quite some time since I have watched this. However, I recently found a bottle of the Black Ops at a local beer store and snapped it up. As I was watching over this again, I think it would be VERY cool to have the Brewery put together a tasting box of EVERY beer brewed in a given year in either 187ml or 375ml bottles. Package them with a pair of glasses for the “gifty-folks” or just the beers for the geeks.
