QOTD: Is it possible to even choose? No way to pick an all-time favorite but current top-tier choices are Chateau du Petit Thouars 2006 and 2008 (100% Cabernet Franc); Rouge Prestige from Domaine Brescou; and Cabernet Sauvignon from Domaine Mas Rous.

I don’t really drink much cab sauv at all.. so I don’t have a favourite. I rarely drink it from California, but might have some from the Graves every now and again.

I’ve just realised after reading this that it relates to all cabernet, not just cab sauv!

Love cab franc.. drink quite a bit from Bourgueil, Chinon and Saumur.

I have to agree with you. When the Loire Cab Francs are well-made, they are pretty tough to beat in my opinion. I’m a huge fan of Bourgueil in particular!

QOTD: Current fav Cab= Meyer All-time fav Cab=Waypoint Haven’t had too many Cabs lately, but have many in the cellar that I’m sure I will love—Togni, Dunn, Jarvis. Will dig into them when the weather cools down.

QOTD: For me, it is most anything that comes off of Spring Mountain. Always been a huge fan of Sherwin, Pride, Smith Madrone.

But…if I had only ~$30 bucks to spend on a cab, Whitehall would take my money every time.

Coincidence – but was out Monday, half price bottles at James beach, and ordered up a bottle of Chateau Montelena – it was very good.

QOTD: favorite?!?!?!? I’m not a fan of that question. I don’t have one. Maybe I’ll try the readily available Chateau St Jean and it could be my favorite of the moment. I had a really nice Bordeaux recently that was mostly cab, a second growth, chateau name escapes me…. a Saint Julien

qotd: I’m overdosed on them myself and haven’t really been back yet. I did however have a glass of the 05 Cab from Optima recently that was good. Don’t know if I could pick a fav though. I did have a ’97 Cask 23 that I thought was better than a ’99 Lafite at a tasting not too long ago. Perhaps unfair as that was a better Napa vintage than it was a Bordeaux vintage

Fav Cab of all time– no doubt the 1974 Heitz Martha’s vineyard— Back in ’83 a store nearby had a few cases— My friends and I drank them all, 1 at a time. Every time we had one, we just kept saying over and over “Man, this is SO good””. I still remember it 27 years later
