Solid quickfire show

Honesty IS the best policy! Nothing shows me more integrity than when you give a wine a an honest review and lower score and even say that it’s not worth the money it goes for and it’s sold in the Wine Library!

  • Hey Gary

Good show and good recovery. I like the way these shows are going at the moment; snappy, fun and knowledgable; bringing the thunder.

QOTD: YES, of course!!!! You need to have a big public event. I’m thinking maybe in the Jets Stadium!!!!!

    Cheers
    Andrew

I know it sounds cliche but the Jets should be there! #justsaying good show can’t wait to try that Viognier how bout bargain Bourdeaux show with like a sleeper vintage second tier wine easy to find?

Keep ’em coming anf I’ll keep commenting, GV- that is my commitment to you, sir!

QPTD: If you can hustle in a Saturday episode or two to make the 5-year anniversary, that would be pretty symbolic. You’ve always been about the hustle, in the wine realm and in your books, so I know you can make it happen if you want to. Perhaps a few focused, 1-wine eps. that you can bang out in an afternoon in advance and air them on a few weekend mornings? How about a few Sunday Brunch episodes featuring which value sparklers are best for Mimosas, which are best for Bellinis **(do the stone fruit flavors of Prosecco pair better with Peach Bellinis? Does the richer texture of Cava stand up best to the acidity and pulp of orange juice? Let’s find out!!)**

QOTD: no problem for me if they coincide.

Just keep them comming. Imagine when you’re doing nr. 10.000 on your own 90th birthday…

  • QOTD: it would be amazing to have the 1000th episode together with the 5th anniversary!!
    Looking forward to see it…

Keep the formats tight, and keep ’em comin’. Penner-Ash does a great job, good stuff. Really surprised with the Archery Summit, however, they normally make great wine, no matter what the year.

QOTD: Yes! Saturday episodes would be awesome and the idea is sincere and meaningful. Adapt and make it happen.

Great show! I love Oregon but haven’t tried as many whites from there as I’d like to say I have.

  • What about the 2008 Oregon stuff? Everyone is going nuts for that.

Eric – I can tell you our 2008’s were very nice (93 and 94 pts from parker and 94 top 100 Wine and Spirits — just to name drop a bit – but like Gary says it’a ll a matter of what YOU like!!! 🙂 I can say they sold out last spring… BEFORE the scores came out ; ) I’d say we’d be honored if you wanted to give them a shake!! – cheers Clare (the wife)

It might be fun to have two celebrations – one for 5 years and the other for episode 1000. Either way will be good.

  • I have to say, I haven’t been blown away by much Oregon Pinot lately.

QOTD: Let the shows happen when they happen. Part of the appeal of WLTV is that it’s unedited, organic, and I think trying to land a particular number on a particular date would run against what the vlog has always been.
But then, no one reads my blog, so what do I know?

QOTD: 1,000 episodes is tremendous regardless what day it falls on.

I quite like Oregon pinot noir, but haven’t had the chance to taste any viognier or riesling from the area.

QOTD – whenever it works.. the more shows the better.

QOTD – whatever works for you guys… looking forward to the 5 year and 1000 show marks!

Would be fun for a Misha sighting during one of those shows… maybe Sasha too?

Gary, nice to see you giving the Viognier some love. I’ve become a big fan and agree with you that chard lovers need to give it a go!

Viognier was one of the first wines I fell in love with (I started with the whites). After hearing you wax poetic I’ve made a note to pick some up this week, it’s such a gorgeous white! Thanks for another great show!

  • Acorns, I like that actually. It’s been a while since I’ve had an Oregon wine. Must Buy…

QOTD: since I’m writing this on March 10, and the 1000th episode seems imminent, I would say that it would have been great to have show one thousand on the fifth year anniversary.
