GV – gotta love the wines of Burgundy!
QOTD – I really like Chardonnay and I had a wine tasting at my house recently where we had a Chablis and contrasted it with a Hartford Court Stone Cote Vineyard Chardonnay. The Chablis went much better with the cheese we selected for the course.

  • Did you just say up in this bitch? LOL
I do love my Chards (and all white wines) to have good acidity/backbone and complexity so I think I’d love the Verget.
QOTD: I haven’t been crazy about any chardonnay I’ve tried in the past few months.

Have not had enough Saint Verans, excellent show with some good info and history. Will go exploring next time I’m out at the local shoppe. Wish I had discovered them when they were $7-9.

Love a good Chablis, though I am blanking on any one in particular right now. Haven’t been drinking much French lately. Anything with good minerality and acidity, yum.

More wines I need to get into. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. QOTD: Cant remember one in the last 6 months that wowed me. Of course, Ive probably only had 3 tops.

Oh man, your stock guys were dying when you poured out that bottle! Hahaha…

I dig Chappellet’s chard, and Walter Hansel rocks too. Both places have kick butt tours? Steven Hansel took me and my two friends around the little winery, pointed out all the surrounding vineyards, and opened up 4 bottles on top of a barrel! No fancy bar, no snackys…. the wines rocked, and he gave us the 4 bottles afterwards. Absolutely awesome.

Gary, watch this episode and compare it to 811. Better yet, watch it next to Mott and others, because the difference in your genuine passion for doing WLTV is huge! As a long time viewer, you need to see the difference in how you host the show now from then. The difference in energy (authentic energy, not standing for a quick CORNY dance) that you bring appears to me as black and white. Your absolute focus on the wine and the viewers, without any side marketing motives, is, most simply put, special. This is the kind of episode that got you the Vaniacs. And I'm going to continue to rip on you for a minute, because I like you and the Thundershow a lot! Its like listening to the Metalica(I'm an old time Metalica fan, but stopped listening after the Black album). To be honest, your show is developing like that band. Metalics's best is without a doubt the first four albums. The black album blew them up, but it also was the beginning of the end for the band. The first four albums were when they were their truest, and produced music for their true fans. In the Black album they when after the main audience, and veered from their true roots. They lost their true fans, and today are a crab band. So

Bit of a gripe – Gary asked folks to comment on whether or not we picked up 'Crush It' to settle a bet. Saw a lot of “No, sorry” responses. This bugged me because it implies that some people think that by not buying GV's book we are hurting his feelings or letting him down. I hope WLTV is more about wine and networking than about GV selling books. I assume that Gary wouldn't hold it against any of us if we didn't buy his book…I hope…

  • U think Boomy because I feel more passion for the show then ever, u may think it is marketing ect…. but its not, It can be so day by day u know? I am realllllllllly surprised u feel that way? 🙁 So sorry man 🙁

  • Grill could care less about who bought the book from the standpoint of being mad or sad, thrilled and humbled if peeps did but not a requirement

  • angelatcarlson

Wow, what a difference a year makes. The '06 was heavier and buttery, the '07 was zesty enough that Gary wanted it chilled. I love wine!

  • Grill Factor

Great answer – keep doin what you're doin!

  • A dumb Rhein king

fwiw – I thought the dance was genuine and hilarious.

QOTD: I really can't think of the last time that I had a Chardonnay … not that I don't like the varietal, I just can't remember. I did have a Louise that tasted very much like an un-oaked Chardonnay from Northern Vineyards though. It was excellent.

  • “if you know your higher on acid” was the part of the video I jumped to while trying to find the QOTD. 'nough said.
