Really enjoyed this one, it’s got a lot of oomph. Do you know the reason they call it Maduresa? I tried to look this up but couldn’t find a Maduresa that wasn’t from Celler Del Roure. I’m assuming it’s just the name that CDR gives it.

Gio: Correct. And they let me keep it and resent the WOTM wine so how cool is that?

Anyway, I just want to say I really really liked this wine.

    2004 Celler del roure Maduresa

okay so here we’re trying the June selection for Wine Library’s Club A Wine of the Month, the 2004 Celler del roure Maduresa, and this should be pretty fun.

I decanted the wine a few hours, it’s a little chilled right now because it has been real dry and hot here and I’d like to feel refreshed when drinking the wine, so understand the flavor is going to be a bit more tame than it is probably intended.

COLOR – Black cherry, beautiful and dark
SMELL – Gorgeous fruit, reminds me of my mom’s perfume she wore when I was a little kid in the late ’70s. Almost a carrot patch thing going on v ery subtle, tobacco, plenty of dirt and bark.

TASTE – Incredibly balanced wine, right off the bat, would be delicious with steaks, I even tried this with pasta and not bad. Very good wine for the $30 price point. I would order this again.

Smooth as silk all over the place. With a very nice vegetal back end that just gives you a jab, like saying: “Hey, I’m here and I’ve got something to say.” Really nice finish, balanced, silky, no over the top alcohol or dryness.

I’d easily score this wine 91+

    Hi Gary,

I bought my mother a wine of the month for Mother’s Day this year. I live in Colorado and my parents live in New Jersey. Now that I’m home visiting, we are tasting this wine, watching your video and enjoying it together.

We love the wine but even more we love the opportunity to share it together. We’re both big fans of Wine Library TV and will be saving the next bottle for my next visit. Thanks so much, see again you soon.

I totally enjoyed this wine. On a rainy cool day in June (in Vermont) I made a five onion french onion soup and this wine just made the meal. Round and bold, stood up to the soup! Thanks again for a great wine Gary!

Gary – Are you still doing the wine club? I was going to buy from Club B for August, but I see you haven’t updated since June.

    Thanks

Loved this wine…big fruit up front, and I loved the licorice on the finish. I want more of this…thanks for the intro.
