Very well thought out and informative. I'm sure many others enjoy reading this too, but are just a little scared to post - anyway - thanks again!
  • Robert Snow
I love winelibrary.tv and how Gary is changing the wine world. I put a widget on myspace, www.myspace.com/luvfunkmusic and have been spreading the word at the restaurant I work, telling co-workers, my boss and customers about winelibrary.tv.
  • chubsyubsy
I emailed the Great Howard Stern and informed him of your site and endless knowledge and helpful information. If Howard says go there, you will overload your site with new fans.
  • Gary-

TSTT (To Spread The Thunder): I have gone to 3 wine tastings and into 2 wine stores recently and began the chit chat and by the end of the conversation had given the owners all your info (mostly written your name and the web address of wine library on a napkin). All were totally enthused to hear about you and could not wait to check in with you...

    And the thunder roles....
  • Rich
Win or Lose, the Thunder will continue to be spread. :)
  • amm3rd
I send great episodes to "Family & Friends" group on my e-mail. Love the ThunderShow!
  • Bryant Sousa
    Vayniacs Unite!!

The contest may be over, but the thunder lives!! I'm bringing and spreading the thunder everyday.

I have a challenge for every Vayniac out there: To spread the thunder everyday and tell at least one person everyday about WLTV.

Let's keep the best damn internet wine program...actually...the best damn show period going for many years to come.

WLTV, The Vayniacs and Vayner Nation is here to stay.

KEEP KICKIN ASS WITH YOUR BIG ASS GLASS G !!!
  • I didn't win :(
  • Dave from VA
Same as many people are doing. IE: telling friends, linking peeps up on Facebook, trying new things and expanding my palate. I was going to run through downtown in my underpants with the website address on my chest, but my wife did not think it was a very good idea.
  • Heather
I have "spread the thunder" on facebook and myspace. I have told all my co-workers, family & friends about WLTV. Last but not least, I have done several tastings with friends that are just getting into wine to help them expand their "pal".
  • TxBigD
The wife and I bought Vaniac Tee Shirts and are planning to wear them each and every Thursday night to the series of free concerts at Town Center this spring AND you can bet we'll be proudly displaying our new Vayniac gear to our weekly trips to local wine tastings.

Thanks for being there and doing what you do!

    Regards,

Me, my wife and my "Pal"

I was at a presentation by a famous Australian sport celebrity named Max Walker recently (Cricket & Aussie Rules player). He has just setup a studio to create online content/podcasts. I told him to check-out Wine Library, suggesting he contact you. Maybe there some synergy there?
  • Adam J
Hey GV, I've been thinking hard about spreading the thunder and I've got some ambitious plans that may take some time to come to fruition so I'll just give you the rundown of what I've done so far: 1)I am a facebook WLTV powersupporter. I've friended you up, and I've got all your apps. 2)My blog (http://closet.badgerpad.com)has the WLTV badge.
3)I made a blog post about the Thunder show. 4) I've invited everyone I know to cork'd. 5) I've told all my friends and family. My mom thinks you're a little overexcited but one of her friends imports french wines and he got in touch with me about the show. The Thunder is spreading...I've witnessed it. Looked for more to come in the future, but for now I offer these 5 things very humbly. Thanks for doing what you do GV.
  • I had to give a presentation for about 200 or so tech colleagues of mine. Instead of dressing up in a button down shirt, I wore my WLTV t-shirt and one of my wristbands! Afterward, several people approached me about it and I got to explain how freaking awesome WLTV is!
  • Here's one for ya... knowing that every time I fly anywhere I always end up with one of those "Notice of TSA Inspection" inside my luggage, I left a "Hey TSA guys, if you like wine, watch tv.winelibrary.com !!" note inside. It was gone when I got home :D
  • Hailey
Not only have I emailed my friends and family and coworkers links to this site as well as recommended the podcast, I have hosted tastings with friends and family based on the episodes. Whenever I watch an episode and I'm really intrigued by the wines, I get everyone together, get the wines, and we watch the episode while tasting. We compare our thoughts and palates to what Gary had to say and see what we think. Great wine, great friends, and WineLibrary TV always proves to be an AWESOME time!

Just spent two weeks all throughout the western parts of Europe. I was in Paris, France, London England, Brighton England, Edinburgh Scotland, Dublin Ireland, Cambridge England, and every person I saw I told about the amazing online podcast about wine. I am hoping to have converted upwards of forty to fifty unsuspecting Europeans. This doesn't include my roommates here in France that I have already converted to the show.
  • I posted your web address on the "A Glass of Wine Solves Everything" Facebook group, since it was the biggest that I could find about wine with over 9,000 members. Also posted it to the "6 Degrees of Seperation" group since it was the largest group that I could find with over 4,364,000 members!!!
  • Kelly
Gary, I wrote you a few weeks ago about talking to a Sommelier in Vegas. So what I have been doing is really hitting hard the Sommelier's I met when I'm out. Have hit up pretty hard a couple in the past week - almost pissed one guy off - who cares. Most are pretty receptive. Also hit up the folks at the liquor store I shop at - Liquor Mart very big, 40,000 square ft - very popular here in Boulder CO. Large wine selection. Going back this weekend to see if they followed up.
  • Mikie C
Right now, I tell my friends at work about WLTV - All my relatives - People I meet everywhere. But I'd like to broaden the approach, to really make your message more visible and permanent to a wider public.

I'm a teacher and I would love to work with you in developing a wine-type, learning book that would use links to your episodes(online) or a CD/DVD (from the jacket) to teach a broader community of lovers of wine... Most of the wine 'course' type books I've read have had that nose-in-the-air pretentious approach (except for Oldman's, which is useful but only so much). Your book would be a new, vibrant, energetic, passionate (like you!) book that would grab a wide audience that could tap into what you have had to offer over the years and episodes!

I'd help you organize/edit the book (or in educational jargon, 'curriculum') and a whole, new generation of Vayniaks would be born. Plus, it could become the 'gift that keeps on giving,' since thousands of people would buy the book in bookstores and check it out of libraries around the country and the world.

Spreading the Thunder, now and into the future!
  • Christine
I have spread the thunder via email and sightings in the hallways to several people at work (San Diego area biotech). You have some serious fans here in SD.
  • TonyStro
On our inter-office IM, my status message reads "spreading the thunder - tv.winelibrary.com." We have over 20,000 employees!
But I still get the biggest kick out of my cellphone's ringtone. It's your opener to the show... "Hello everybody and welcome to wine library tv." I still laugh every time I get a call, it's RADOOL

    Mott...link it up!
  • stewart l
I've spread the thunder with my local wine group -I've got them watching wltv, bringing wines that were evaluated by gv and comparing them.
  • Mark H
I said before that I would convince a friend of mine to get a WLTV tattoo. I don't want my friend to have one, I want one! That is a lifetime of support for the Thunder.
  • BK
I have been spreading the THUNDER from the get go. I have been more grass roots than the technology inclined people, telling everyone who would listen about "my wine guy" in the dirty jerz.
I also feel like I have been spreading the thunder by sharing all my new WL purchases with friends and family. That and trying new wines with them all the time.
Although not as "creative" as others, I really feel that I have opened or expanded peoples "pals" around me.
Thanks to WLTV for being a fun and informative medium for the love of all things wine!
  • I am a waiter at a 5 star restaurant in Hawaii. I talk with a lot of people about wine. I get to sell a lot of wine. My favorite part of talking juice is mentioning your show. It's surprising how interested people are in seeing your show. I mean I know I love to watch, it's just surprising how many others are aching to have someone teach them things about wine. I never realized how many wine drinkers there are out there searching for a little guidance. Incuding myself. Thanks again for reminding me to trust my pal, and thanks again for keeping the thunder alive. I'll keep telling anyone who will listen, and even some who won't.

By nominating you for the best Wine podcast and Video Blog on the 2008 American wine blog awards

Here was my nomination on their website:

There is no question the best wine blog video is tv.winelibrary
Gary Vaynerchuk The dude has over 400 episodes and is teaching everyone to trust and develop their own pallet. Any other winner but him would be ridiculous.

AND!!!! forcing all my collegues to just one show and BOOM they are hooked....

I am really getting the ball rolling here in Denmark, then again you are doing most of the work i am just letting them know you keep bringning them back.
  • John S
Spreading via Facebook i real life telling E-V-E-R-Y body about what a great guy you are and how much you have help me building my "pal". And knowledge about the Wino
  • Alrighty, this is my third submission in spreading the thunder because the time was extended. I live a very secluded life, and I was mentally pouring over how I can spread the thunder more. So I decided to do something simple, yet meaningful. I gave Wine Library TV a THUMBS UP on my stumbleupon.com Firefox plug in. Now people with similar interests will surely see that I approve of this beautiful internet wine movement.

    Every little bit counts.

    Cheers!
  • We feature WLTV Episode #346 right on our front page, each and every day since it first aired. With over *FIFTY-FIVE-THOUSAND views*, Episode was the single most episode that *we* could find. We call that some serious Thunder Spreading Luvin' if you ask us. WineLibrary also features in our marketing materials and throughout our website, making The Wine Spies the #1 Gary Vaynerchuk shrine. We love you, Gary! Deep respect from Agent Red and the entire Covert Mission crew.
  • Gary;
I am the sommelier at The Five Fishermen in Halifax,Nova Scotia, CANADA!!!!!
We are a casual fine dining restaurant with SPECTACULAR cuisine, wines from
"A to Z " and a staff "FAMILY" that you would want to change your last name for!!!!!

You nailed it; as I have only tuned in to you since the Globe And Mail
issue. Every day I tell our people about your Show. The other day as I was walking through the kitchen, I overheard one staffer ask another if he had watched the THUNDER show last night, and I said to myself "Y E S " !!!!!!!!

In Nova Scotia, the current Sommelier Students ate studying France and to be
specific Bordeaux and Burgundy--as though YOUR episodes 410 & 411 are not right on "Q" !!

I think universally, "tasters" are inhibited / struggle to come up with
descriptor words, and I tell them " WATCH THE THUNDER SHOW"!!!!

You are what the wine world needs right now---don't change a thing!!!

    Cheers!!!
    Avery.

To spread the Thunder I have been telling my mother, her fiance, and their friends about the show. They are huge wine drinkers. My mothers fiance holds the same beliefs as GV about wine, so he especially liked finding a kindred spirit.

Going to keep telling the people and spreading the Thunder!
  • Tim Morea
I've just been telling all my friends and sending them links. Not a lot, I know, but I'm trying to do my part!
  • Hailey
Not only have I told everyone and anyone who has an interest in wine, but I have also hosted tastings based on episodes. I watch each episode and when I find one I'm really interested in, I send out an invite to all my friends to join me and Gary to for a tasting! We watch the show and taste it ourselves and see the comparisons.
  • JayZee
Gary, you know I've done my part since I've been with you since the beginning. While I haven't done anything spectacular recently, that's because I've already spread the thunder. 1) I've e-mailed everyone I know who likes wine and got most of them hooked on the Thunder Show 2) I where my Schwag to wine events quite often and when someone asks about the Schwag, I extol the virtues of WLTV. 4) I have indoctrinated my softball league buddies (who are usually beer drinkers but they're hooked as well on WLTV) 5) and, finally, I have posted links to my favorite episodes on the internal electronic bulletin board at NASA where I work. Oh, did I mention Facebook? Yeah, I spread the Thunder there as well. This June when I take my trip to the Rhone with Mat Garretson, I promise to where my WLTV Schwag there as well as we tour some of the great Northern Rhone wine houses. I wonder Chave will say... :-)
  • What I've been doing to spread THE WORD is to have wine tastings along with play-backs of the THUNDER SHOW (such as what we did for the Christmas show.)
I've done this twice so far with a group of 6. It's so great to be able to taste the wine you are tasting at the same time and hear your ideas and our ideas and how we seem to be growing. Thanks for staying around.
  • Daniel R.
...gave link (http://tv.winelibrary.com/)to all friends to listen and learn from you... to trust your own palette
  • Saftig
I make certain to wear my winelibrarytv shirts and swag whenever I ref a soccer tournament. Lots of fans out here in AZ it would seem. Also left what I hope was an inspiring comment at Itunes. Shared a lovely bottle of wine with friends at the base of the Thunder Mountains here in the foothills of the Huachucas, Sierra Vista, AZ.
  • I have just blogged about WLTV as my site of the week, I have the widgets on my blog. I wear the wristband at my local tasting. It's like breathing...the thunder just spreads itself! Great show, Gary!!
