I think tasting the soil is a good thing to do in understanding a wine’s terroir, and people have been doing it for a long time in France. It makes no sense to taste synthetic cereals, however. That was very odd… and skittles? I don’t think so. You’d be better off swallowing rocks than ingesting high fructose corn syrup from mass marketed processed foods. As far as tasting,I don’t see how it’s relevant to wine since most of the ingredients in those products are highly unnatural. So this doesn’t make sense to me.

I think a lot of companies use cassis as a broad definition of currant berries. Creme de cassis is made from black currants, though.

Wonderful episode! Fantastic! Huray for Gary. I love how you poured the rosemary on your hand and then proceded to throw it in the spit bucket as if you were priming your hand for the real taste. LMAO! Jalapeno? Have you tried cerano peppers? It makes a jalapeno look like an orphaned flower girl. I once ate a entire cerano pepper and actually cried for 5 minutes straight with ice cubes stuffed in my mouth. Love it! Love you! Love the show! I wish I could be a bigger part of the wine world. If you host another get together next year, I’ll have to come. Keep up the fantastic work.
