Great episode! The Meekers are a total blast and that hand print thing is clearly NUTS. Oh, and Gary? Two words: hair brush.
Gary… you just returned from Spain…. you say you have tons to share… the world cup is right around the corner… it’s prime time for some vino tinto talk. I’d love to hear your thoughts of the ’05 Riojas. Like I previosuly said, I’ll be tasting there in August and I’d love to get your impressions.
I was absolutly amazed at the fact that he does every bottle by hand. What a collectors item. That’s a dead soldier you’d keep forever…classic. Great story on how the Frozin is done as well.
This stuff about the hand print on every bottle, I have to say that I am always talking about one of the problems with business today and the money craze that has happened is making the market worse then you hear about people like this and you see just how wine is meant to be made! These people are in it because this is what they love! That is rare these days! Great episode!
The paint rocks on those bottles, nice behind the scenes look.
Every bottle by hand……WHAT? That is crazy!
These two are very interesting people. The fact that they actually touch each and every bottle is amazing! It kind of makes it personalized and gives each bottle it’s own identity. I like it.
I liked hearing about the FROZIN – and the Meeker Handprint Merlot was always the 1st wine we recommended for a gift for someone who wanted a good bottle of wine with a beautiful label.
nice people, and nice hair gary ;p
word 48 “has”
Gary, dude, you’re hair is a bit disorganized. Cool people, if I see a Meeker wine I’ll buy one and check it out…:)
A cryoextracted zinfandel! Never heard of one of those zin’s before. Gonna have to look for that one too Gary, thanks yet again. One after dinner wine that I’d love to see you do an episode on is vin jaune’s. That would be very interesting to hear you talk about
The Meekers seemed like nice people, have had the Handprint before…bought it for the bottle which I thought was better than the wine..the deseret wine sounds good.. http://www.winelx.com
These people are a hoot! If I ever see the hand print I'm buying one. That is some serious dedication.
I’ll back again for sure, thanks for great article
These people are clearly original and they do their own thing which is nice to see that the wine industry is not purely business but still artisanal (is that a word?)
