    qotd: I guess my fav Gary since we are picking 1 would be #4. The one where I got to see the tour of wine library and drool over the magnums of Petrus and d’Yquem. Wonderful 100th Gary. Looking forward to your 10,000 episode where instead of spitting , you can just empty your catheter into the Jet’s spit bucket. lol, just kidding, although gives me a new pun for the vin jaune episode I’m waiting for. {not to mention the charbono tasting episode.}
    Seriously Gary, congrats, glad I’ll at least get to see the 1000 live. Plus who knows, maybe by then you’ll have done a vin jaune and a charbono tasting episode, and I can move on to requesting an episode on Madeira’s. {I got lots more ideas, but 1 or 2 at a time.}
    Thanks Gary.

That was really funny – corny but in a Beastie Boys Sabotage sort of way.

Qotd: Episode #4 because you get to see the awesome wine cellar! I love getting to see the Wine Library and I really hope to get to see it in person some day.

You wonder if you would make it another 100 episodes, and now you’re at 400+ – I’m just hoping for one more episode, and then a few more after that! :)

    Congradulations on #100 Gary!

Also congradulations on changing my point of view about how a son of an owner in a family owned business can actually be a great thing – I used to work for a family where the son was the antithesis of everything you represent. You are extremely refreshing!

    QOD revisited…
Favorite cartoon – Thundar the Barbarian
best bottle of wine given – 1997 Merryvale Profile
best bottle received – Magnum of Gosset, best Italian wine – 1997 Terre del Grico Monstyronum winery I would visit if limited to one – Niebaum Coppola (wine, history, variety, film history, setting)
    favorite episode – #40 Passion
wine I would never drink again – the first bottle I tried (17 years old) which had to be a Livingstone Cellars Chablis that had been in my parents cupboard forever
Best Restaurant – The Caribou Club, Aspen
Favorite Restaurant – Korean Garden BBQ Restaurant in Denver
Best food pairing – sushi and Albarino
My winery name would be – Opus None, just kidding, I like the name “Train of Thought”
Last bottle of wine I drank -2000 Dehesa La Granja Tempranillo
    Favorite TV show – Heroes
All time favorite TV show – MASH
Favorite Desert Wine – Oremus Tokaji 5 Puttonyos
Show I would like to see – you blind tasting the four best selling $20 wines in the store I manage

Gary, thank you, thank you, thank you for WLTV
Now that I’ve caught up on the frist 100 episodes all I can say is …

It was a sad day for me when Neil O’Donnel threw two picks in XXX but had to be a sadder day for you when the Jets signed him to a contract after that.

    Thanks,

Hey, Gary… I joined up after seeing the ad in LA Times. Episode 100 is a hoot. It’s the first one I watched. So to answer your BIG QUESTION, my favorite episode of your first 100 is episode 100. Now, about those other 99… Can I fit them in a wine tote?

Kenwood Chardonnay Sonoma ‘05 (750 ML)
BRONZE MEDAL, 2006 ORANGE COUNTY FAIR WINE COMP. The ‘05 Kenwood Chardonnay deftly combines ripe peach with a shading of creme to create a nicely balanced wine; pair with fruit-stuffed pork chops.

Fav ep is Tony Coturri. I’ve been a Coturri wine lover for the past couple years ever since attending a spring tasting Tony had at his place on Sonoma Mountain. Fantastic unusual wines. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada but travel for work to San Fran a few times a year. Each trip I make it a point to stay over Fri night and fly on Sat so I can go to Tony’s on the Fri night to taste, talk and buy his wine. One of the few business trips I look forward to. Great ep with Tony.

Great 100 episode. Thanks for the first 100 looking forward to many more. My favorite was your store tour. Just attended the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta and there were several other WLTV fans there. 95 wineries present and many of us giving Vaynernods or Vaynershrugs. More shrugs than nods. Thanks Gary.

    Vayneristas?

    SS Chris

Tony, thanks for your clarification which I think is correct. So, the VaynerChuck means exactly the same as the instapour…so lose the instapour and just use the Chuck (by the way I love those). Ant the VaynerPASS will be the general idea that Gary has passed on the wine. thanks

    Congrats!!!

You responded to only only one comment of mine but it was the most important……are you a family type of guy?? Your 100 episode answered that…. as you said it would. The funny thing is I never thought you would include a little of my own professional occupation. [I am a partner in a surveillance and investigative firm]

Best episode?? I think I am going to go with 48? Meet the Meekers….something about a dis-functional couple becoming wine makers and walking off in the sunset. Seriously it seemed very real and down to earth. It appealed a little to the beginning to the established cork dorks.

Congrats to you Gary and the WLTV crew for the one dubba zero. The igloo part cracked me up, but the guy should have been holding a Ting instead of a Coke. ;-) Special nods to Jim in the wine room and to Michelle at the end of the clip who handed you the Verite. She always seems to be the one who rings me up when I’m buying at WL. QOTD: Since you’re forcing a single choice only, I have to say number 18 on decanting because it really has changed the wine drinking ritual for me – and I suspect for many others as well. If it had not gotten such a huge number of hits on the internet, who knows when I would have come around as a WLTV Vayniac. Thanks for bringing in the Iron Sheik and the other figures. I look forward to seeing them put the glass burglar in a sleeper hold.

As I understand it, a Vaynerchuck has two meanings: one a wine Gary has passed on, and two (a more specific definition), an action where gary tastes a wine and then dumps without comment.

In order to avoid confusion, I can change the name of the Vaynerchuck (2) to something else, but I personally don’t like “instapour”.
