    Loved the hair Gary.

How about trying a vin jaune on the show one time?

    Jesus! That hair!

    Gary,

An Old World guy, I nevertheless love the Constance as an everyday wine. You’re right, the oak is there, but well integrated. I love the fruit up front and think the finish is terrific. You’d pay $45 at least for any California wine this good.

QOTD: oh I had those rainbow brites! They made a mess in my basement.

Love that you tasted an under the radar region and found some great values. This is why I watch this show!

Gary. Because of your high praise of the Les Verrieres De Montagnac, I bought a few bottles. It is truly, “that wine”. I can’t wait to drink the next bottle. And I’m no longer a lurker.

Falling a bit behind on my WLTV so it’s catch-up time (okay, ketchup time for Gary as he loves those “vegetal flavors”).

I’m a Syrah freak/fan so I’ll be looking into the purchase links for the Les Verrieres in particular.

Question about Rainbow Bright? I seem to have one of those minds that remember annoying TV commercials so the first thing that came to mind was the snippets of songs played on the commercial which sold the Rainbow Bright music collection:

“When you work to the rhythm of prisamatism it isn’t like working at all… a steady beat to tap your feet, it’s inspirational…” “sunbeam, sparkle and shine, you’ll always be a friend of mine…”

Not even a karaoke-worthy skill, but that’s what I remembered.

Someone else also remembered those rainbow stripe, multicolor leg warmers and sweaters (even Mork had the rainbow suspenders); that screams Rainbow Bright – but which came first the clothes or the toys?

    Thanks for the great episode!

I saw Tony Snow go into Andres’ hair salon on K street the other day and HES GOT CANCER! Have you been having a toss with Ms. Cheese Wiz before the show? She must be psychic to know that all I was thinking about was seeing her topless.
Episode #247 Gary awakes and raises his head from a Tony Montana sized mountain of snow to taste wines that he enthusiastically either really loves or really hates. Then he machine guns the camera crew.
    Ok… I’m old(er), bald(ing) and jealous.

    Gary,

You bet Languedoc wines rock! Nice show as usual. So what’s with the hair? I’ve seen “bad hair” days before, but this is HORRIBLE hair day!

Nice to see some more affordable and good French wines. I’ve always found that the wines from France for export are inferior to those I’ve had in Europe and somewhat overpriced.

Not be be politically incorrect, but I have always had the sense that the French take the US for granted. That is to say, they don’t export their best wine at a fair price to the states.

Thought you’d never ever come to these wines. No you know what we’re really splashing into. Try Fitou and Bandol one time. Just the mourvedre makes them total kills. Great wines.
QOTD1: Lazy ass? Wanna have a punch on your nose? Lazy ass? Me? I am working my ass off, that is? Come over here or make some vids for me yourself, you … ;-)

    Sensei,

QOTD #2 – word association….might be the name of the LCD you took and it might explain how you got the vivid imagination you have to come up with all the crazy stuff you do…like I have said before, good thing you own the joint and do not have to go through drug testing!

Your humble student, (who still loves you by the way!)

Glad to see you pretty much agreed on the Cuvee Constance: nice wine, but maybe a little too polite.

More French wine! This show rocks! I wish I could be the guy who cleans up the room after the shows and gets to “taste” the leftovers.

Gary, way to flaunt your full head of hair today.

QOTD: As soon as I get a chance to sit on it, I will.
    QOTD2: Strawberry Shortcake

FYI Calvet Thunevin was aged in concrete vats- no oak was used…so settle down on the wood hate when it’s not even part of the product!

I’m too old to know what rainbow bright is even though my daughter did play with My Little Ponies. It brings to mind sweetness actually a little too much sugar, too too many pretty colors. It’s a flavor that sounds a little um… chemical. Fake. Kinda like Koolaid. Great show though! Love the silliness and off the wall comments about sports. Very fun. As far as video is concerned …I’m way too old for that too.
