Best of luck judging in Idaho. I’d love to hear what you think of their wines. In my opibin Idaho wines aren’t quite there yet. Seems like they need to grow Tempranillo as the climate in Southern Idaho looks so similar to Spain.

Super annoying intro, but I love that Grand Cru Burgundy glass. My favorite stem of all time.

It looks like both of these wines are going for that whole Sine qua Non or Bridesmaid Winery kind of label feel. Very new school, modern style.

As for wine storage, we’re using a Vino-Temp “E-Line” (Economy Line) wine locker with a WineMate compressor. It’s pretty decent, but the wire racking inside serves to scrape the labels off bigger bottles like Burgundies and fat US Syrahs. Forget about Pax and Sea Smoke . . . they won’t even squeeze into the racking. The compressor is top-mounted so cool air falls from the top down. Wine in the upper 33% of the locker stay several degrees cooler than those at the bottom. If I had to do it over again, I would get a shelving system made from wood that can support bigger bottles, sparkling wines, and larger format bottles.

    QOTD:
Let me go get baked and ponder that question.

    Hi,

Fresh episode… finally.. just have to wait for it to download.. Question? How can you become a fan of California wines when your “local” monopoly wine distributor has about 10 different California wines to offer(locally)… I’m just going insane here in Finland… Dam.. Gary, if i ever get to visit U.S.of.A you’d better invite me to a proper wine tasting…or something… :)
Too bad thundercats have been extinct in Finland.. Ps: i’d pay for one of those wristbands. From your GGGrazy fan from Finland.. All the best Gary!!!

intro’s are great. wines sounded spectacular also. overall a great way to end the week. glad you explained the punt so thoroughly. QOTD: my buddy’s classroom across the hall is almost a spitting image of mine. (Not).
Great topic. Interesting idea. Any others that look kinda the same (other than having cute Aussie animals on them?)

By the way – - what are those Thundercats doing on your table? I know “why” they’re there – just wondering what they are doing. They look like they are trying to make more Thundercats.

First off, great video Lars. Second, Gary, are you suggesting that a Brandon Jacobs fumble (See every third Jacobs carry) is less dangerous than an Eli pick? Finally, QOTD: I have no idea…. Okay, the lids that Groundwork (A coffee place with several locations in LA. Speaking of which, what’s the plan GV?) use look just like the fantastic Solo lids, but are effing pieces of junk.

    Gary
I like to golf and my wife does not. She looks at the clubs and thinks that they are all the same. But as you know, each club has a purpose. Whats funny is that my wife does not drink wine and thinks grape juice is cheaper. She is so practicle.

P.S. In case she reads this, I love you.

Lars was the best part of the show today!!! Great Intro LARS!!!

I have a Whisperkool through wall cooling unit in my walk in cellar. Keeps LIQUID at 55 degrees. I could sleep in my cellar ;-)

QOTD: Meat from a super market vs. a quality butcher. One eats like leather and one like, well…….. you know what I mean!

  37. August 17, 2007

    Jayhitek

QOTD: Probably me and Gary. My 4 year old nephew just walked into my office and saw Gary on the screen and asked if that was me. hahaha
Probably the only thing we have in common is our love for early 80’s tv cartoons like the Thundercats. I am not the kind of guy starting a video blog, he can have it.

Don’t yew now! We upp ear in da ‘north are not all like Lars. I LOVE that bit. Go Vikes!!!!
QOTD – The twins that I dated when I was in High School.

  39. August 17, 2007

    Eric

You didn’t have this wine during the Australian Shiraz/Viognier Ep. I was really intrigued after the Terlato/Chapoutier was sold out. You are spot on with Victoria. Thanks for turning me on to the region!

QOTD: two things that look the same and are completely different. . .my profession(in wine) and my passion(in wine).

  40. August 17, 2007

    Tom T.

    Lars was as usual hilarious.
QOTD my driver and three-wood. They look the same, but I slice the hell with the driver, and hit the three wood straight (usually).

    easy qotd, gv……. music.

take two bands who play the same style of music, one of which has that certain something, the other that doesn’t, and put them side by side. the band that doesn’t have the spark… they look the same, they can sound the same, they can have the same cover art, they can thank the same bands in their liner notes…. heck, the crappy band can even seem to be as good at first. but six month later, that album is being used as a coaster for your gin and tonics, while the other is still in your cd player.

    have an awesome weekend everybody…

  43. August 17, 2007

    Yanknbank

    So……….
What is the point of the punt, IN A WINE BOTTLE?! Ha ha football, but I had the exact same question as that guy did after watching the Sea Smoke epsiode.
    Anyone?
    Anyone?

  44. August 17, 2007

    SteveW

    AWESOME TOP 45!!!!!
    Lars killed it!
QOTD: This years Seattle Seahawks vs last years. The Seahawks are going to bring the Thunder this year!

  45. August 17, 2007

    Brad

Funny how you crap on the G-men while getting on the punting soap box, even w/ the in-depth detail of mentioning the technique of using an angle to place the ball inside the 20….you mention Eli, you mention Brandon…and you fail to say anything about our MVP Jeff Feagles? Hello, lead the NFL on punts inside the 20 ever since they started tracking that statistic!? How convenient of you. You also forgot to mention how lame the green goobers are…can’t wait to watch Puntington’s shoulder get completely dislodged from the socket when Strahan ruptures it…assuming he doesn’t quit!

  46. August 17, 2007

    Autoproxy

I think you may have hurt that guy’s feelings by not answering the punt question.

QOTD – Umm…my two hands? They look remarkably similar. But they really are very different.

  47. August 17, 2007

    JC

Got the wristband today, thanks! Digital camera crapped the bed, so nadda for a picture in the immediate future. QOTD: My twin nephews.

    Jen Loves Wine

Hey Gary — We tried the 2004 Parsons Flat a few weeks ago an weren’t overwhelmed either — gave it an 89. It just didn’t have the complexity we thought it would and for that price point I think we were expecting a little more. QOTD: Can’t really think of anything. Have a good weekend.

  49. August 17, 2007

    Jim Louderback

Build a wine closet. I did so, with a refurbished refrigeration unit (basically an AC), shelving that I bought used from Craigs List…. and now I have room for 500 bottles… Much better than a cooler….

And it is totally not full!

Go to Seattle Seahawks Whine.com!!!!! Do not buy!

  51. August 17, 2007

    John J.

QOTD: The spaghetti sauce I made last night and everything I made before it. Because last night I added cab. sav. for the first time. So while it only looks a little different, its taste is a world apart.

    Have fun in Idaho!

  52. August 17, 2007

    Gary, great friday episode
QOTD- My dogs, they are both boxers and eight years old but they are completely different, one ignores me and the other can’t be without me.

  54. August 17, 2007

    Bossman

    Daverdud…I mean, Gary,

Funny you should mention 3d glasses, when the Thundercats finally arrive they’ll be accompanied by something else I couldn’t resist on eBay (sucker for a bargain).

Nice punt on the punt question, pinned inside the 5.

QOTD: Passion for family life, and, er, passion passion. It’s tough working in midtown Manhattan during the summer months and keeping one’s mind at home (above gutter level).

My QOTD for you: Is it just me that interprets the direction that the gentleman are walking on those two bottles as an indication of their apparent diametrically opposed style? Ah, screw it, stop thinking about the wine and drink it!

  55. August 17, 2007

    Chris George

Am in two minds over that one.

  56. August 17, 2007

    Mr. Cabernet

First, no more Lars! It’s just too hard for me to fast search to get to the end of this unfunny bit. Wasn’t funny in the past, isn’t funny now.

Wine cellar–I have a Vintage Keeper VP220. To save shipping costs it is packed in 5 boxes, most of them flat. You then assemble at home-not to hard. I was able to pick up up at a local distributor in San Diego and paid no shipping cost.

Not the quality of a Vinotemp or Subzero, but more than meets my needs.

Punt question–WIKIPEDIA.ORG!! Not good for some info but perfect for this type of question.

  57. August 17, 2007

    C.W. Miller IV

AotD: Two things that look the same but are completely different: My “I’m concentrating and fascinated by what you’re saying face” and my “I’m displeased and slightly angry with what you’re saying face”. Most people who don’t know me very well tend to become confused by these faces when engaging me in intense conversation.

  58. August 17, 2007

    Robert F

Great intro, Lars. Gary, you can probably football nerd it up even better than you can wine nerd it up – I have no idea what you just said – pretty much Greek to me.

QOTD: Not very significant, but I just had the best home grown tomatoes yesterday – looked exactly the same as so-called “vine ripened” store bought tomatoes – but the taste is no comparison. I had almost forgotten what a real tomato tastes like. I wish I had room to grow them in my apartment…

  59. August 17, 2007

QOTD- JaMarcus Russell and Daunte Culpepper

  61. August 17, 2007

    The SF 49ers.

By the way, Gary V, what’s up with trashing our home team without provocation? You had a nice visit in SF last week and the 49ers suck? What’s up with that???? Where’s the WLTV love?

They have been terrible the last few seasons, but this year I feel we’re talking playoffs, so yeh, QOTD: the 49ers.

    Completely different, however.

My daugther listens to me once in a while….

  64. August 17, 2007

    life's too short...

cool that you mentioned the terlato / chapoutier tasting when you brought up the rhone-like characteristics on Innocent Bystander. Nice. re: Tim F’s question, I have to comment: People like sports. Not just Jets vs. Vikes, but more like, “my clubhouse is better than your clubhouse.” Whatever the issue, it’s all about “us vs. them.” My God? Kick’s YOUR God’s ass, every day, and twice on, well, you get the idea. I think it’s ingrained in us from the bad old ferment the juice in the fruit and get trashed on bug juice days where we grunted a lot and clubbed each other over the head. Wait. Now? We just do it with flames and condescension. Read Robert Parker’s boards vs. WL’s boards–world of difference. A LOT of arrogance and pomp. WL’s board? Not so much. Anyway, that said, there’s good information on both, so why limit yourself? Take everything–wine boards included–with a grain of salt. I’m just sayin’…

  65. August 17, 2007

    Taco John

QOTD: Law students in class vs. law students around town. Law students are pretty much the same when they’re working, but totally different when they go out to bars or are hanging out with friends. Some can’t drop the driven-professional act and be a normal person.

  66. August 17, 2007

    Dominus

Great, great show. Hopefully I can order some of the 1st impostor and it not be sold out.

Punt? Something the Jets do quite often vs the Colts would have been a shorter, easier answer. Actually, there is a purpose to the punt though has its origins with champagne bottles. Maybe another famous “Dom” invented it?

QOTD: My brother and I look quite similar but are worlds apart.

    Have a great weekend.

    Dom

P.S. No more gravatars or did I miss that email?

  67. August 17, 2007

    OrionSlayer

That’s interesting how similar those two bottles look. The image on the Argentinian Zolo looks similar ( http://www.southernwines.com/images/products/zoloreserve_cabsau_04.jpg )

QOTD: Well, these two don’t look the same, but they sound the same and are completely opposite: raise and raze. Isn’t that interesting?

  68. August 17, 2007

So – having been a lurker, I’ve never asked this question..nor seen it answered – but what happens to the wine that Gary drinks on the show? What I mean is….there is still a good 4/5 of a bottle left of wine when he gets done, what happens to it? Anyone know? Gary – have time to answer?

GET SOME FREAKING CHAPOUTIER/TERLATO SHIRAZ–VIOGNIER BACK IN PLEASE WL, I DON’T WANT TO BUY A CASE VIA THE REQUESTS EMAIL SO THIS IS MY RANT

I’m glad that there was a nice old world wine for the price on WLTV, hopefully I can buy some before all the people who watch this freak out and buy everything you say is good. It’s crazy how people react to wine critiquing.

The two things that look alike but are not similar at all that have been in my life recently are the novels Anna Karenina and The Brothers Karamazov by Lev Tolstoi and Fyodor Doestoevski respectively. The ideas that each forms about life are staggeringly different yet the country, time period, and shape and length of the book would lead one to believe otherwise.

Lars, excellent intro! Funny funny stuff …

Gary, you convinced me to try another Aussie Shiraz with that ‘04 Innocent Bystander.

QOTD: Tomatoes – a nice in-season ripe Jersey Tom will kill anything I can find in a supermarket everytime. Have to convince my boss I need another trip to NJ, if only for the tomatoes (but I can squeeze in a WL trip as well).

hmm, I got about 300 wines in my storage area(I’d wish it was a cellar). I enjoy having at least 6 of each, so I can taste them over the years and then serve 3-4 for a dinner when they are really ripe and drinkable. Wine really develops over the years!

I do like to taste different stuff every day, but for a dinner I like to serve the same to all.

    Lurker,

“I’ve never asked this question..nor seen it answered – but what happens to the wine that Gary drinks on the show?”

If you’re referring to the spit bucket it’s collected and used in the WL store branded bottles. If you’re speaking of the wine he actually swallows, I surmise it follows the normal course but that’s just conjecture on my part.

“What I mean is….there is still a good 4/5 of a bottle left of wine when he gets done, what happens to it?”

Oh, okay, sorry. You know Gary is a standup guy, he donates it to the local shelter. This explains the recent phenomena of homeless people stumbling over the streets of Springfield reaking of D’Yquem, Caymus and Grange requesting .25 or any spare foie gras of passer-bys.

“Anyone know? Gary – have time to answer?”

He rarely responds to questions on the vlog, but surely if you email him you’ll get a response. However, he gets so much email he often misses some of it so if he doesn’t respond right away resend it daily until he does.

What? Gary asked us to help out with answers, didn’t he?

…and he wants to know if we drink wine while watching WLTV.

    Gary,

I’ve been watching WLTV for about two weeks now. Lots of fun and great information. I am presently watching your beloved Jets as I write this. It’s the 4th qtr and yer boys are gettin schooled by the Vikes 34 to 13 Vikings.
    Too bad soooo sad.

Have to try a shiraz viogner blend one of these days.

QOTD: my 2 daughters, they look very similar, and in their baby pictures sometimes I get confused, but they are total opposites. One is shy, sweet, and always wanting to please, the other is boisterous, demanding, and full of life. Hard to figure, maybe one is the mailman’s kid???

Every time I try to get a bottle of wine that is rated good by Gary, SPEC’s doesn’t have it!!

Hey Gary, is buttoning only one of your collar buttons a new trend I don’t know about? Is that like the one pant leg up thing from a few years ago? I feel like your viewers need to know these things so we can get a head start on trends that super famous people like you only know about.

Lars, your intros are THE BEST! bar non. Both Gary and Lars are great performers, hahaha.. NICE toss of the wrist band!! Then I got confused myself too; I sword that you got the wrong (2nd) bottle. Two great wines. You know.. before I started watching WLTV (about 13 or 14 months ago), I knew very little English. Then first I learned a word really well: PROFOUND. Now I’m down to my second learned word.. TREMENDOUS!! QOTD: Wife and Ex-wife! haha.. just kidding. Again, Lars.. award winning stuff, congrats! Tremendous!

So that was a great Friday episode, possibly my favorite.

Great intro by Lars, it’s been a while!

    QOTD: My albums!

Kudos to Lars. Reminds me of one of my old college roommates from Bemidji MN. Great show Gary.

QOTD: Cigars! I’ve smoked many cigar brands that looked alike but smoked and tasted drastically different.

    LARS!!!!! That was AWESOME!!!!!!!
QOTD: I have two identical-looking microphones for my Karaoke Revolution game. But one I got with a game I purchased at Best Buy; the other came with a game I purchased on Ebay (used.) The one from Ebay has some loose wiring and, consequently, it crackles or drops out in the middle of a song. So, really, it’s unusable. Unless I’m singing duet with a friend. Depending on how good a friend it is, sometimes I volunteer to take the bad one… but usually I selfishly and knowingly choose the good one! :)

You suggest that acidity matters in the longevity of a white wine, but I think its just as important for a red wine. Acidity is what gives you freshness. If a red wine has the requisite fruit, tannin structure, AND acidity, I think its set up for the long haul.

QOD: My Prince Graphite tennis racquets. Same racquet, different grip size. Consequently, they play very differently in my hand.

P.S. Just getting back from vacation and had too catch up on more than one week’s worth of episodes. I watched all of this week back to back and found all the episodes to be highly entertaining. A real solid week.

Gary is right about getting the biggest wine storage unit one can afford. If you live in the Los Angeles area, Vintotemp has a scratch and dent warehouse in Long Beach. Some of the units are truly beat to heck, but others have only a small ding here or there and are more than half off of list price. I bought a sixty bottle stainless, front venting unit from them (with just a tiny scratch on the door) for three hundred bucks. Of course, it is already full and I’m looking to buy something larger.

QOTD: Rosenblum Appelation series Zins:The bottles for the San Francisco and the Paso Robles look EXACTLY the same, but the wines are totally different. The San Fran is just a big fruit bomb (delicious, but boring). The Paso Robles has tons of dark fruit on the nose, along with fresh mint – and finishes with a tremendous amount of chocolate and pepper.

    great intro lars, well done.

    Gary…WHAT THE PUNT>!?

Great episode, GV. I think the entertaining guest intros are good, and boo to all those who hate on Lars. We should all put ourselves on the line so much. I’m already buying too much Aussie Syrah these days, and episodes like this don’t help – they get me curious as heck.

QOTD: Well, even after years I am still blown away by how different two wines that look nearly identical can taste. But that aside: It’s amazing how two waves can look like they’re going to offer you the exact same experience, but as soon as you’re up on them the ride is so totally different you can hardly believe it.

  101. August 18, 2007

    IamAlurker

Lars is sooooooo much better than Gary at wine. Lars clearly has the superior wine knowledge and acumen. Gary you better hope Lars doesn’t open a store in NJ!

And Lars was pretty close in nailing the score! Jets stink!

I want a Lars wristband!!!!! Got an extra snort?

  102. August 18, 2007

    Great intro, Lars!

“He who hesitates is lost.” or something like that. I was thinking about getting some of the Innoocent Bystander a few weeks ago after the Shiraz-Viognier ep, but opted for something else instead. Shame on me.

QOTD: no idea, although I liked Happy Wine Guys answer about his cellar and Visa statement. I can relate to that.

    Have a great weekend.

This was a great show! Thanks Gary. It’s just to bad your Jets don’t bring the thunder as much as you do hehe. Do you know anything about snaps? Perhaps you could head down and give a demonstration eh? (Sorry man I HAD to say something, the wife and I couldn’t stop laughing when that happened last night)

On another note, I’m sure some people don’t want to watch quest intros however if they went back into the archives… you’re just bringing back what you were doing before and it worked and still works. With the little tidbits of education you’re mixing in I think you’re right on track man, keep them coming!

QOTD: Well, I’m remarried and even though I’ve had two wives they are completely different. I rushed into the 1st when I was too young to know any better and as we got a little older we grew apart. My new wife is the best thing that ever happened to me and without the past the future would never have been as amazing as it is!

I’m really enjoying viewer intro’s.Keep this up if you can.Great friday show.QOTD I’ll have too say my two daughters as well. My first was no worries when she was baby didn’t get into anything. My youngest is holy terror into everything and everything goes into her mouth. I love them both the same but man what a difference in the two. Thanks GV and WLTV crew.

I lived in Minnesoootah for 5 years so I enjoy doze intro’s from Lars doncha know – highly entertaining. This was a GREAT episode Gary. Last time I tried the Parson’s Flat was the ‘03 vintage. Big over-the-top fruit and a very silky mouthfeel (the best part), but otherwise rather unidimensional and just not interesting enough for me to spend 30 bones on it again. Regarding the question on wine cellars, it’s hard to argue the point that a built in closet or full boat cellar is the best arrangement. However my basement is not amenable to that so I have a Vinoteque unit (seats 285) that has served me very well over the years. The two best pieces of advice I have if you’re going to get a cooling unit are: 1) Buy a much bigger unit than you think you need. In fact buy as obscenely big as you can afford so it can accomodate all the great wines that Gary is recommending. 2) Buy one that has flexibility built into it. In other words one that will seat all the friggin oversize bottles (tall and fat)that are so popular nowadays. This criteria is harder to meet than it sounds when it comes to predesigned units.

Lars rules! Nice job Lars. I love the Tarkenton jersey (most exciting quarterback in NFL history). Go to my web site and send me an email if you have time.

Gary, I love the recycled (printed on both sides) paper for the Ask WLTV segment. It’s good to see that WL is an efficiently run organization!

Congradulations on the spectacular Jets performance yesterday, they looked stellar. Pennington’s arm strength was showcased beautifully w/ those blazing 5 year screen passes…and those 2 interceptions were spot on baby! Way to go Green slobs- see what happens when you mess w/ Big Blue? Eat it.

Great episode. I had always wondered about the punt, and you explained it so throughly. Thanks for that.
QOTD: My desk chair vs my boyfriend’s chair. They are the exact same model, but mine doesn’t lean back and his does. I prefer it my way and he prefers it his, so it works out.

Just stumble on this show today. Its just ironic that an Aussie gets on a yanky show to find what is good back home….just as ironic as the game of Football is played with their hands and the foot is so seldom used people are not aware what a punt is used for…..hmmmmm better stick to the Aussie wines… Great show!!

    J Crazy

QOTD: My left and right leg. Both are about the same size, same shape and at first glance you’d think they would be used for the same exact function. HOWEVER, when one leg is going forward the other leg is going backwards. CRAZY. Wait until I explain more. I was playing a little judo the other day and when I was leg tripping a guy my left leg was off the ground but my right leg (same size and shape still) wasn’t moving at all. I mean, it was sta/tion/ery. I tried putting my left shoe on my right foot, didn’t work. I tried walking with both feet moving in the same direction; my wife asked me why I was jumping. I said, “what are you freakin’ taking about? I’m walking!!” I mean I think a god, when making us, might make two legs that at least could wear the same shoe. Then you wouldn’t have to buy two.

  132. August 19, 2007

    Bernie Bearnaise

Lars personified the Northern Minnesota or Wisconsin archetype with panache. Nice winestein too. Excellent football prognostication skills. Not bad for preseason.

Gary, you will get me to taste more New World wines and change me at least with your creative descriptors. I was just innocently standing by… The two pictures on the labels are quite different as one is the traditional garb of a clergyman and the other sort of a 1950’s film noir Marlboro Man.

Many grape varietals have a local name that is used only regionally. The Fume Blanc episode on Thursday related the famous Robert Mondavi marketing ploy. In the Loire region Sauvignon Blanc grape can be called Blanc Fume. I’m sure they get their share of fog too.

Two wines that have similar names are the Pouilly-Fume (pooyee-foomay)and Pouilly-Fuisse (pooyee-fweesay) but one is the Loire Valley crisp Sauvignon Blanc and the other the rich Maconnaise Chardonnay.

    Robin C.

QOTD: My black cats Cleo and Quincy look pretty much the same but Quincy loves Pavo, who adopted him when he came into the household as a kitten, and Quincy is always trying to suckle Pavo, which is usually well tolerated by Pavo – he’s very nurturing. Cleo is very friendly, but refuses to be picked up and doesn’t have close friends among the other cats.
Also, I took a bottle of Ridge Monte Bello 2000 to a friend’s house for dinner the other night, and I’ve always loved the Monte Bello, but this one was a revelation – it couldn’t have been more perfect – it started with cigarette ashes in the nose and evolved to cherries and berries welling up to the surface. Last night I went to a restaurant where we ordered a bottle of Wolf Blass gold label shiraz, and it looked much the same given the different lighting and different glasses, but I found myself comparing it with the Monte Bello (I know that was wrong of me to compare 2 diffrent grapes) and it fell very very short. I wondered why anyone bothered planting the syrah grape. Of course the Monte Bello was 6 times as expensive.
I added a C. onto my name as I noticed that there are some more Robins signing on. My best friend is named Robin; we travel together a lot and everyone always loves it that we have the same name. We went to a restaurant in town for lunch and the waiter said that we were the 6th and 7th Robins to come into the restaurant that day. Everyone was enchanted. It must have been a slow day.
Very nice show. Gary seems so mature. Nice shirt.

QOTD Well there were these twins I knew… but I’ll keep this PG and go with Leberkase (liverwurst) and Duck Fois Gras. Duck kicks pork’s ass every time. Speaking of ass those twins…I digress.
I thought it was rather ironic that the wine in the Rhone style syrah bottle tasted like (according to Gary) a Bordeaux, and the one in the Bordeaux style bottle did not.

  139. August 20, 2007

Gary … these wines look a lot like the Tallulah Syrah you reviewed a long while back (that I bought, and is very good). Take a look …

    Hi Gary
Just looking through a few episodes I missed. I’m glad you liked the Innocent Bystander. First let me say that Victoria is where it’s at for Australian wines and especially the Yarra Valley were this comes from.
I visited the brand new winery / cellar-door / restaurant when I was back in Australia on holidays a few weeks ago. Innocent Bystander is the second label of a mob called Giant Steps who make some pretty good wines. They have some excellent Chardonnay’s that I think you may like, quite subtle and not your over-the-top, obnoxious, ’sunshine in a glass’ cheap rubbish (the stuff that gives Australian a bad name). You need to checkout as many Yarra Valley Pinots, Cabernets and Chardonnays as you can, I’m not sure what makes it to the states, but there’s some lovely wines coming from this area – especially 2004 and 2005s.
