Trader Joes used to carry Roaring 40s really cheap. Excellent cheese
    QotD: Metroid, best game ever.

QOTD: I am going Contra (the 1st one)…you know the up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, a, b, a, b, start select….BAM! 99 lives. Blades of Steel also has a place in my heart, wels so doesn’t Punchout! Gotta love it!

    Gary –

I was able to go to Wine Library for the first time last week, here’s what I bought…

    Treana Red Paso Robles
    Clonakilla Shiraz/Viognier
    Collemattoni Rossi Di Montalcino

I loved the place, thank you!

I didn’t have a Nintendo. You recently, however, mentioned Centepede on the Atari – what a classic! Can you believe my high score was 99,990. What I would have given, still give, for one more mushroom.

Doh! Pavo you got the name R.C. Pro Am!! Yes!!

QOTD: RC car racer was a blast! I can’t remember how far I got, but it got pretty ridiculous. Big props of course to, yes, Zelda, Duck hunt, and I have to admit it,, I had a game glove too (ridiculous but fun.)

QOTD: This is so easy I can’t even stand it, it was right on your table GV, Techmo Bowl baby!

QOTD: Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, Contra, and Temco Bowl! Walter Payton was unstoppable! Also 007 373 5963 was greatness.

Port is definitely tasty and NOT conservative (aka boring). I’m looking forward to trying the Stilton you recommended with the Dow (or maybe just find a good Stilton closer to home).
QOTD: I liked my son’s Mario Bros. games. Fun! Never did like that game “Reagan as President”,though.
    It seemed rigged.

QOTD: So many to choose from. I really like Bionic Commando. Double Dragon?!? Straight up Mario Bros?!? Its like asking what child you love most.

QOTD: SO Hard to pick just one! I’ll give love to R.C. Pro Am for pure racing fury and Ninja Gaiden for just being awesome. Though Mario 3 was just fantasmic!

    QOTD: Blades of Steel

Ports are great. Never think to bring them out though. I guess I would if it were the ‘94 Dow’s.
QOTD: I don’t play Nintendo games. My husband plays various games with machine gun fire and sounds of people dying. I find it very distressing.

QOTD: The first Legend of Zelda for NES, definitely the most awesome game. This is why i want the Wii at the age of 28, to relive my childhood and play the new Zelda…with a ‘good’ glass of wine in hand this time around.

I’m pretty new to the port experience. Thanks for dropping the knowledge and the cheese suggestion.

QOTD: I just can’t choose one: Zelda, Super Mario 3, Godzilla, Mega Man 3, Castlevania, or Dark Wing Duck.

‘75 was not a good Port year. I love roaring 40s. I love the ‘83 Warre’s. You need to DECANT that wine — that’s why it’s hot.

Reagan got into office in 1981.

You should have busted out a Port sipper.

    QOTD: Tyson’s Punchout

QOTD: ? didn’t really get into Nintendo, sry? but see me go on PC COD/Brothers in Arms..now we are talkn’!!

Love port, adore port, have too much port,, and will be EDUCATING my three sons on it’s quality and pleasure, so the dumb bastards don’t just swill it down some night after a college frat party!!! ;-)

Serious question… have you seen comments go down since you switched to the new multi page format?? I like to click comments and see all of them listed, rather than multiple clicks.. just wondering.

Thank you for doing a show on port! I’m thinking Christmas present on that Dow’s Port. As for the QotD: Duck Hunt or Supermarioland.

Good episode. I’ll have to look for the Roaring Forties cheese here.

QOTD: Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. One of the greatest epic games out there.

QOTD : Blades of Steel – a hockey game. The fighting was fun.

    Great episode Gary

qotd: BASES LOADED 2. loved pitching the side-arm guys and loved the “biorhythms” aspects of the game where your guys would be hot or cold based on how they were feeling. played that game for many days straight.

QOTD: Favorite original NES game has to be the first Legend of Zelda. That game rocked my face of, and I’m not much of a video game person.

    QOTD: Final Fantasy

Zelda, for sure, no doubt about it, best game ever. Christmas 1987 was magical. Still one of the only games I have completed.

I even wear a kick ass Zelda shirt.
