I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this already, but perdrix = partridge.

    Awesome show; I have to agree with everyone saying that Sophia was the perfect guest: Cheery, knowledgeable, and French-speaking :~}

QoTD: I travelled for a few days (in central America) with a Swiss, so I’m already convinced I should visit! He never mentioned anything about wine, though, so now I’ve one more reason.

    Great episode Gary!

QOTD: I don’t know too terribly much about Switzerland, but if I had the funds I would love to visit the area. Along with wine, I am very interested in other languages and cultures.

Ah how I’d love to try those wines! And it’s funny, I just had my first Swiss wine (2004 Fondant Valais Suisse), a Chasselas last night when my friends and I ate raclette!!! :) Et Sophia, merci être venue à la Thunder Show! Vous nous avez donné beaucoup d’information sur une région que la plupart des Américains ne connaissent pas. Est-ce que votre château donne des visites guidées? Je voudrais bien la visiter!

QOTD: I’ve never been to Switzerland, but I do want to go. I’ve had several Swiss friends (francophones et germanophones)so I’ve learned a bit about the country.

That was a very good ep.
Mikie C got it just right, keenly observing Sophia’s wine savvy, expert spit and great laughter.

Yesterday’s brother ep was quite ok and even moving in parts, but this was good TV. I think it opened a door for many to Swiss wine.

QOTD: Swiss wine, and Switzerland for that matter, needs more of this, visible exposure of Swiss quality and charm.

Wow……that was probably the worst episode I have seen of late…..that girl had no personality and she brought your energy level down my boy! ;) She was very nice but just not a personality for TV……..what happened to gettin the Vayniacs on the show….that would rock…..forget these producers!
Having said that….I am keen to try Swiss wines so will be on the lookout
    QOTD – great cheese, neutrality,

Gary this episode was awesome. I wish i could get my hands on the pinot.

    QOTD:
-I would love to visit the land is so beautiful over there. I could also get my hands on some of the wines too :)

QOTD: I would go to Lucerne to drink an elegent smoothie made of Petit Verdot grapes, fresh tangerine and lime juice, with a little swiss goat milk frozen yogurt. The elegent Sophia could also slather Gary’s bottom with the left over Petit Verdot grapes and we’d all splash in the lake and recite poems and laugh? Plus the jazz moment, with excellent sexuality.

Terrific show today. I am looking forward to hunting down these wines and finding a case of the Pinot Gris. I love it when you have guests, Gary!

My wife thinks AJ is a “little puka shell” and that’s a good thing.

QOTD: I love Switzerland! I had the pleasure of filming watchmakers from Raymond Weil make their masterpieces in this wonderful little building in the mountains overlooking a beautiful valley. An experience I will never forget! While I was in Geneva, I bought an Alsace Pinot Gris and a few months later impressed the GM of the Prince DeGalles Hotel in Paris by ordering the same wine at lunch. It was a feel good moment…unfortunately, I haven’t tried any Swiss wine..yet.

Nice show. Sophia was a very cool guest. Interesting stuff about Swiss wines, too bad that they are not easily available in the states.. I’d really like to try some

QOTD: Been there, stayed 4 weeks in Interlaken/Meiringen area, Switzerland is a BEAUTIFUL country. Only thing keeping me from going back is that its very expensive. Wish I’d known about wine when I was there, would have brought some back

QOTD: The best combo of them all, wine and skiing, would make come to Switzerland (well you could be cheaper). But for you not being a part of EU would give me (a Finn) an opportunity to purchase tax-free European wine – so that rarity too.

QOTD: What do I know about Switzerland – Not much – I know the capital is Bern and not Geneva but that’s about it – well that, watches, bank accounts and mountains. Can’t wait to visit one day, and now I know something else about it – there is wine there ;)

hmmm. Swiss thoughts……other than packets of instant hot chocolate? Snowy mountains, green valleys, a hatred for fast cars. I would love to try some swiss whites, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them. I’ll have to keep an eye out.

QOTD: Its got alot of hidden guns and alot of mountains.

Great show, it’s refreshing to hear from a pino gris that doesn’t suck.

Great show and very unique, never tried a Swiss wine before, gotta seek one out. Thanks Sophia and GV, especially Sophia for putting up with GV. Notice how she demanded his respect and attention? Well done!
QOTD: I’d love to visit Switzerland and try their wines, slating it in on my next Eurotrip, once the darn dollar recovers that is. Seems like an amazing place!

    Sharon

QOTD: Well, I like Swiss watches. Have a Movado and a Tag. Although, since I
had the movement replaced in the Tag I feel like it’s a Swiss shell over a generic heart.
Nice show, the Pinot Gris sounds great, will try to remember to look for it! I’ve never considered Swiss wines before.
BTW Plastic Man is also a great song by the Kinks.

  22. January 29, 2008

    Dean D.

QOTD: I live in an area of world class skiing, so of course a visit to the Swiss Alps would be in order for me! Finishing off the day apres ski, with a swiss wine would be icing on the cake.

    Danny

Good show!!! and her accent was very cute :O can I say that?!?! and not get in trouble?!? to bad I did it anyway. :)

QOTD: I don’t think I have ever had an swiss wine, but this definitely motivates me to want to try it. I have a bigger respect for it now that I know what sort of values and traditions the wine makers there are keeping alive. Well I know one thing about Switzerland now… beautiful women! :)

Well I’m off to buy a plain ticket *CHEERS!*

Sadly, I’ve never had any Swiss wine, but I would love to go and visit, it looks like a beautiful country.

Another great show guys, you are picking some pretty good guests. How is it that your guests always upstage you a little?

    The Lukas

    Whoa Whoa Whoa,
    Where’s the table cloth gone?
it’s been gone for a few episodes now, and i think it needs to come back.

    QOTD:
I’m not the biggest fan of Europe, don’t ask me why, but Switzerland is the exception.
I went there when i was 17 (5 years ago), and everyone i met was so nice.
My dad and i rented a car and drove up and down a mountain, the scenery is amazing, it’s something i’ll never forget.
Another thing i remember, is that Lunch is a big deal over there, i think, either way, i ate a lot, and the food was amazing. Shame i wasn’t drinking wine back then.
    I recommend it to anyone.

Thanks for another great show Gary (and Sophia)
