I just saw this episode for the first time today. Absolutely CLASSIC. Your pops is wonderful and pipes, what can I say, amazing. In answer to her QOTD: I would like to shadow her for a day or perhaps just ride along on her wine sojurn for a day. I must check out her blog now. Classic.

so you guys talked about wineries using other fruits ( not their own) common practice within the industry. Qustion: why didyou choose an american labled wine fromtheir selections instead of a AVA designated label?

    Sasha = 62
Pipes’ QOTD: Clive Barker - ’cause he’s a renaissance man
Sasha’s QOTD: Obama, but I wish it were Nader.

    QOTD1: Mr. Vay-Ner-Chuk is ……….. 57.

QOTD2: I would like to shadow President Bush

QOTD3: Because it must be fascinating to see what a U.S. President does on a daily basis.

    QOTD4: OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!

Yo, main, I totally respect this whole wine-thing. However, (I’m not pretending) wine is either red or white, blue or green, bitter or sweet, smooth or soft. So, like whatever, you guys should really come down and begin taking cake-classes instead. CAKE RULES!

Interesting show! Pipes has got pizzazz!
QOTD 1 - I think that Sasha is 59 years old. He looks great - I met him at the Boston Wine Expo.

QOTD 2 - I would love to shadow a future Saint.

QOTD 2a - Because I would want to be around someone who gave more to the world than they ever received.

QOTD 3 - I think McCain is going to take it because the Dems don’t have a candidate that is electable in a gerneral election.

Although he could be 54 if he’s had a birthday in the last 3 months.

This has to be one of the best episodes EVER! (Although Sacha looked like he could really go off on a political rant if he was allowed!). Nice to have that Mott, Sacha, Pipes segment in the middle.

    QOTD 1 - Your dad’s 53, ’nuff said.
    QOTD 2 - Lewis Hamilton, I’d love a day of open-access F1
QOTD 3 - Obama would be nice.

The 2003 Osoyoos Larose Grand Vin is far from the best BC has to offer. The wine industry in BC is stunning! It used to be that only the hot Niagara region in Ontario was able to produce grapes, but in the last two decades BC has proven itself to produce much better wine. I’d say that the Pacific Northwest in general makes some really excellent wines, but both BC and Washington wines are rather pricey these days. Worth it, I suppose. Best BC wine I tried recently was the (now sold out from the winery) 2003? Merlot from LotusLand Winery in Vancouver—cost $25 CAD, but tasted like it should be hundreds more.

The Chateau Aux Arc should probably be pronounced as Chateau ‘Ozark’. Their awards should probably include one for clever frenchified name!

A canuck, living in france; come for a visit, taste some wine.

    QOTD#1: Sasha is…. 60.
QOTD#2: I’d want to shadow Bryan Clay or Roman Sebrle (decathletes) on their daily ‘job’ (because I am a Masters decathlete wannabe)
QOTD#3: I think Bill Richardson will surprise everyone with an unexpected upset at the Dem convention, and then win the general election in November.

    Wow!
    Just wow!
This episode has really turned me into a fan of the show.
I love it how you (Gary), your dad and Jen gets along on the show.

    Now to the QOTD’s:
    1) 60
    2) My boss, because I like his personality and his way of doing business and handling people.
    3) As I’m a Swedish citizen I haven’t really followed the pre-election stuff and I haven’t really formed an opinion.

Thanks Gary for a great show, keep up the good work!
With extraordinary episodes like this one, you are surely one of a kind.

    With best regards,
    Fredrik

Been mad busy so I’m playing episode catch-up. I loved your dad! More specifically, I loved how you and your dad interact. I too am all about the family and it was heartwarming to watch! And your dad is quite charming :-)

Pipes - loved ya chica. You were a fabu sidekick. Great chemistry with all 3 of you (oh and Mott, cannot forget the Mottster!) Like Pipes, I will def be making a trip to the Winelib! Not as far to travel since I’m in Howard Beach, but it’ll feel like forever once I get on the BeltParway (ugh! I hate that piece of “road”).

    QOTD 1: 62ish?
QOTD 2: I’d love to say something really profound here, but why lie? I’d love to shadow perezhilton. I know! I should be ashamed, but seriously,
QOTD 2a: he gets to hang with all these fabulous people and creates havoc with his outlandish stories, and he gets paid for it!
    QOTD 3:…neutral on this one….

Thanks for the marathon episode. Nice to see people on who have been watching as long as I have…since episode 25 or so. Interesting that the wine tasted better at the winery than when it tasted away. I have done that many times and had the same yech, what was I thinking response.
Your dad looks to be only a little older than me, maybe mid-60’s.
I’ve been an Obama fan for over two years since the last Democratic convention so I would like to see him win.

Hugh Hefner…not so much because he lives in the playboy mansion but because he always gets to wear his PJs to work!

I’m not political but it looks like Obama will take it.

#1: Pipes, yes I’ve gotten the wine unibrow after a bit of tasting.

    QOTD 1: Sasha is…61?

QOTD 2: My executive chef, Nano Crespo, because I admire his work (our menu) so much, and his affinity for pairing flavors on the plate the way I try to pair his food with the wines on our list, and because he’s just a damn RADOOL guy.

QOTD 3: As I did on Super Tuesday, I’m ready to BARACK the vote again in November, and he WILL be our next Pres.

Finally! You made me leave a comment GV! Thanks for tasting a great wine from a great up and coming region in Canada. I’m sure someone already mentioned it but its pronounced oh-soy-yoos. I was in the region last summer and it was unbelievable not only for the wines, but the scenery as well. Anyways, taste many more Canadian wines in the future please…

    Awesome episode.

QOTD: Honestly, I have always wanted to have my own wine shop, and someday I hope to make that dream a reality…so I would want to shadow Gary V. It would be a great experience.

    And Obama all the way.

Very entertaining show… although I felt Pypes was trying to force it a little bit… just wasn’t natural like Gary.
