QOTD: Pizza with tuscan sausage, or a proper ragu like they do in bologna or naples, with tagliatelle.

QOTD: Thats just an unfair question because I could I.V. Italian food into my bloodstream. Homemade spaghetti. Theres a comfy feeling about making it yourself and sitting down to dinner with the family.

    QOTD: Pasta Bolognese. . . . Ohhhh baby, YUM. . . .

qotd: Bruschetta because I had an Italian roommate who cooked sometimes and she showed me how to make it and now I love Bruschetta. I make it more american style with cheese on top of the tomatoes/olive oil/oregano stuff. So good.

Favorite Italian? How can you select just one dish? Impossible! :) Okay, fine, it’d have to be, for me, homemade Lasagna with from-scratch sauce using yard-grown herbs.

Great show – how about doing one on German Reislings?

    QOTD — Osso Bucco.

Good job on the 101 for different varietals. I appreciate that.

You can’t taste 2004 Barolos. You should leave this bottles for at least 5 more years in a cellar…

Gary, I just watched this episode and was really disturbed by what sounded like a magazine photo session going on in the background. Was someone there taking pictures? I thought I heard it once or twice before on previous episodes. It was distracting, please stop.

It’s interesting to see the alternating QOTD answers vacillating between Italian dishes and Italian-American ones. Hospitaliano is not Italian. Nor is “Parmesan”. There is Parmigiano Reggiano. That’s delicious.

But I’d say my favorite Italian foods have to include Culatello di Zibello (think prosciutto but way better) and truffled risotto.

Interesting show – I don’t think I have gotten any 04 Barolos as yet.

QOTD: Favorite Italian food? I am going to cheat and go with a meat dish and a pasta dish. The meat dish is veal saltimbocca a la Romana. The pasta dish would be Canneloni Fiorentino.

Just found your show and it’s awesome. I’ve pretty much decided that if I was to have to choose my last meal on earth, it would include risotto, gelato and nutella.

    GV:
I left one comment of the 2 “road shows” that you did. You are correct, you did not ask a QOTD and I did not invent one for my self.
LOVE Barolo – my first experience was a Cabutto Barolo (1997) that I purchased a 6 pack of, most of which is still resting.

QOTD – Love Veal Oso Boca (not a good speller of this dish), polenta, and a cannoli.

QOTD; A really well-made pizza, not American style, but a real italian pizza. That’s good food:-)

QOTD – Tough question because Italian food is great. If I had to choose one it would probably be lasagna.

QOTD: There’s nothing like Mom’s Spaghetti and Meatball’s!!

I’m a bit late on watching this episode…sorry Gary!

QOTD: I’m very simple when it comes to Italian foods. If it is prepared properly (lots of cheese), then I would have to say Lasagna. Otherwise, I’m a huge fettuccine alfredo kinda guy.

QOTD: Bruschetta layered with a slice of sauteed eggplant topped with sauteed and simmered bell peppers, sausage and tomatoes… then topped and crusted with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
