Interesting episode GV… different perspective that we’ve never seen before, like it. Keep up the good work, and Jet’s victories ’cause I like when you’re in a good mood on Mondays – keeps up the spirits don’t you know!

QOTD: Why would I want to do my dream job for only a day? That’s a waste of time…I’m working on doing my dream job for a living – go figure! My dream job is doing food research and development, i.e. I want to professionally play with my food, and that’s exactly my prepared line for career day.

QOTD: Ironic. To work a harvest start to finish.
I have really been considering applying for an internship the past few weeks. 2009!
    Is this episode a sign?
Great guest. She has the passion and took the criticism of her “family’s” wine w/ out getting defensive. Plus, her answer about what she got out of her experience was interesting.

Holy crap Gary, I think you found a new co-host. No kidding, there was a nice symbiosis there… QOTD: I hate to be a downer, but there is no dream job. A job is a job is a job. Even if you love it, there will be days you don’t feel like doing it. I have plenty of interests, but the minute I need to commit to it to make a living, I’m not so enthusiastic. Maybe it’s just me. Anyway, all that aside, I’d be a commercial pilot. I’m already a licensed pilot, but I have to pay to fly, so I’d rather fly to get paid I guess.

Nice show. Kristin is an interesting young woman.
QOTD: Hmmm well I wouldn’t mind being Robert Parker for a day. That day being when he visits all the Grand Crus in Burgundy.

What an awesome guest! I love the fact that she’s NOT a VIP. I mean no offense to those who’ve invested years of their lives into wine. Props to them for devotion and expertise. HOWEVER! (Waves hand at camera a la Gary V.) Having another “normal” person’s thoughts heard is far more interesting to me, personally.

QOTD: For one day, I’d have to go with professional jazz/swing singer. But for long-term, I’m doing it. Three cheers for being with 38 Studios.

    Kristen was great!

QOTD: My question is why arn’t you doing your dream job fulltime already… I am, I am just not getting paid very well for it yet, more free then anything, a Fire Service Administrator

If I could work one day in my dream job I would definitely be a chef. Anthony Bourdain style! Oh, Gary you should try to get him on the show. That would be epic! Also, I agree with the Vayniacs, you are getting the magic back.

    Kenny Dion

awesome show, love guests on the vino shows, and this one was awesome.

QOTD: My dream job is to be a graphic designer (almost there).

Fun show, Thanks GV and Kristin!

QOTD: I’d like to be a novelist or screenplay author. I really enjoy the art of writing and love movies as well. Then I’d retire to my own vinyard where I would serve wine and socialize with its visitors. And my wife and I could sip wine together till the end of time!

    Priceless!

And Kristin, I hope you get to Denmark. It is unforgetably amazing, from the kindness of the people to the architecture of cities that are over 100 years old.

Having kept wine, woman, and song as something of the themes of life, and lucky to have worked with very good food and wine, and played music from Seattle to Finland, basically, I’ve been fortunate to have subscribed to the Joseph Campbell creedo “Follow your Bliss”. While I’ve certainly enjoyed much of my work, and though I’m far from rich, and it troubles me not that I probably will never be, when I dream, it is definately not about a job. But in the spirit of knowing that in the world, there IS much work that needs to be done, I’d be head prosecutor in the trial for Treason of W and those other criminals on the hill.

Thank you both for another great episode.
A dream job for me might be a sommelier at a fancy restaurant on the day of a high-end wine dinner.

Fronsac! Great job Kristin and Gary! At a younger age, in the time before my palate was ready to understand Bordeaux, I’d found Fronsac to be typically tight, but found that the perfumed scents of the wine are a great deal of what this is all about.

Several years ago, I saw the last bottle in a store of Michel Rolland’s Chat. Fontenil ‘98, and still priced at $25! I knew that after the recent succession of vintages, that kind of price would never be seen again. Held it for a few years (among a home par of less than two cases of various gems), but was forced to enjoy it in late 2006, for a dinner for friends. Man, it’s not my nature to be a hoarder, but I didn’t want to let go, cause the next bottle would surely cost closer to $50. At eight years, that wine had just enough time to point what it would be able to do with even more time. It drank gorgeously with strip steaks, and I was really happy to share something special.
