Sorry, I tried hard to watch the whole video but it was too darn dark and the audience was too darn noisy and it just sucked.

QOTD: Up here in Canada they’re called (surprise!) “Freezies”. My favourites were the blue ones and the white ones. Too hard to pick just one. The triangle shaped thing was called a “Lola” IIRC.

    Gary,

I dig this episode but I couldn’t disagree more with you on the Novy sonoma Syrah. I haven’t had the 06 yet but the 05 was a dead ringer for st joseph. Blue fruit and all kinds of white pepper. If you can’t get your hands on it check out the gary’s vineyard syrah.

    Be well,
    Ryan

QOTD: All I know is popsicles. I think I liked red and grape and orange.

Interesting show! I love the Rhone blends and would love to try the Janasse (pronounced Juh-NOSS).
My palate has changed a lot and I am not liking the sugar-fied Aussies as I used to. Therefore, seeing this flavor profile coming to the US – particularly SR Hills – is a bit disturbing.

QOTD – I do not know what an Otter Pop is, but I do know what a freeze pop is. I used to love the Cherry!

    Gary,

Razzles is/was the candy that turned into gum.

Razzes is what I do to your lame-o guests.

Dude, seriously, I know everyone is drinking and having a good time, but show some respect for WLTV! Be Quiet During the Show!!! Sorry GV for San Diego’s rudeness. Come do a show in the ‘Burgh. We’ll show you the love. QOTD: Green.

These live shows are getting increasingly annoying with ruder crowds

    QOTD – Alexander the Grape!

Once again, the wine tasting was amazing. It was a lot of fun and that is why I went. I dont understand all these people complaining and whining about it. GET OVER IT AND YOURSELVES. If you want wine tasting to be stuffy and boring and PRETENTIOUS, then apparently this show isnt for you. So stop complaining and flaming Gary for these live tapings.
    Big ups G!

I think Gary has done amazingly well considering the clear distractions and still managed to deliver interesting notes. The video quality was puzzling but its good to see the show in different settings.

Nice interesting set of wines too.

Otter pops kick arse!!!! I’m from the East Coast and I used to seek these out. I was obsessed. I would only go to certain convenience stores because they sold Otter Pops. I forget all the names, but the strawberry was my favorite.

Whew! Another slightly rough show, with the boisterous crowd and all. Man, the Vayniacs are really ripping you for this, and I just don’t see why. So it didn’t work; okay, so next time GV will tone the crowd down or he won’t tape these types of episodes anymore. No biggie! Not all experimentation goes well! It’s all part of the learning process!

I really don’t know what got up Dutch’s ass, but he/she had better think about a colonoscopy real soon…

Nice to see some good values come out of these eps!

    QOTD: Red (cherry?)

FIRST OFF- This was a great episode because it had (like the previous episode) immediate present feedback… even if it was a bit rowdy. The wine tasting fest atmosphere is a lot of fun, and GARY should absolutely continue to tape episodes at such events if he can regardless of how well viewers at home can hear. FUN EPISODE!

QOTD: Otter Pops?! PLEASE! Weird west coasters- they were called FLAVOR ICE and my favorite was probably either green or orange.

The secret is out! Otter Pops and Fla-Vor-Ice are the SAME THING!!! http://www.redyak.com/rants/OVF/OvF.htm

I said it before about the first San Diego episode so I won’t repeat.

QOTD: Favorite Freeze Pop flavor? Cherry.

QOTD: red — we called them Flavor Ice or Ice Pops (Michigan). Why would you want an ice treat with the name Otter in it? Wierd.

To the people who left comments: Please keep this site professional. WLTV seems to be growing exponentially and proper decorum will continue to be needed for this wonderful site to continue to be a success. Let’s keep the profanity down. That means you, Bryan Hauer.

Having just been at a live taping with 200+ people it is difficult when someone else is filming to get the sound right. Don’t worry about the technique. He had some good things to say about the wines and that’s what counts. Never had an Otter pop in my life. I never liked Ice pops because they always tasted too watered down.

Bro… I know you always yell about people making a big deal about what kind of camera you use and equipment and shit and you always yell and say “it doesn’t fucking matter”, but at some point it does.

This was not even watchable! At some point it does matter, especially when you’re at the level you’re now at. Some level of professionalism is expected. I love watching ya, but you need to step your game up. There’s a reason people watch tv shows & movies in HD on their TV’s and not on in low resolution on YouTube. Although I’ll admit you now can get awesome HD video online so no reason to fight it. Use it!

I watch a ton of online video like Hulu etc… I still expect the video to be watchable. It’s amazing what a nice HD camera, some proper lighting and a cheap wireless mic system will do for you.

Your personality and charisma usually make up for it, but not this time. Hope it gets better.

QOTD: It was grape Flavor-Ice not Otter Pops for me.

Gary, the live shows are fun but there’s just too much background noise going on. If you could hook the camera up to your mic directly and then maybe have a secondary mic at a lower volume so we could hear the audience it might work out better sound wise.
QOTD in the tropical pack there is a pineapple flavor icy pop that crushes all others
