Is Soave the grape? I thought it was Garganega (sp.?). Anyways, what are some good producers of those wines. Love the show. Go Eagles.

Boy, that really sucked. But then again, it probably illustrates for me why buying inexpensive, readily available wine is usually a really, really bad play, at least for me.

QOTD: I apologized to my wife – you don’t need to know why.

Those are some pretty poor scores. I would prefer that you focus on wines that are widely available in the $10-20 range that are serviceable.

QOTD – I jumped on somebody at work and although it was deserved, it probably could have been handled better by me. Therefore, I apologized.

Shame there will probably never be a show ‘wines that you can find around the UK’ – but still interesting to see how the more mass-produced wines go.

Gary – I see you are speaking in London in a few months.. any chance of a live wine tasting we could go to?

ROUGH episode! See you at the home base soon!

QOTD: I most recently apologized to my room mate for procrastinating: I NEED to put our old fridge on craig’s list because it doesn’t look too stylish sitting in our living room!

    Thanks Gary

    Bad luck …

QOTD: The last thing I apoligised for was spilling tea all over a girl at a sushi restaurant last night. Probably my own fault as I knocked the drink over while carrying a friends handbag that clearly I didn’t have a license to drive!

    Cheers

QOTD: Last thing I apologized for was to my lovely wife because I went into work on my day off without asking her first when we had plans to spend the lovely day together.

    QOTD: I apologize a lot.

Even PA carries that first wine, B&G Vouvray, 11.99. But not the other two. A big value play in PA this month is a Santa Ana Torrontes for 6.99 until May 31. It has “deliciousness” and it’s a nice sipper for this time of year.

Yo G, Fuuuun Budget Vino Episode!! Drank Tons of B&G Vouvray in me
younger days and loooooved it!! A Great QPR Quaff! On the other hand,
never had a good Soave. That’s a pretty tasteless Vino……

QOTD: Talking up a bottle of Cakebread Syrah that I decanted, poured and then had to say was corked because it was so bad.

NOT 3 Strikes!! The B&G was 85 points for a $8 bottle! Come on that’s good value!! I sell B&G, have been to their Chateau Magnol in Bordeaux and have gone through their wine training. Wines from all of the major regions of France; Chateauneuf du Pape, Pouilly Fuisse, Bordeaux, Beajolais, etc. Good stuff for the money!

Gary, I’ve got an original SNL John Belushi doll in the Bee outfit if you want to trade a bottle of NZ SVB for it. I saw the psuedo-bee doll in the New Zealand SavBlanc (Cloudy Bay) Episode and wondered if you’re a collector. Let me know!

Thanks for trying wines that don’t require a draw against my home equity loan. While you had 3 strikes today, you and I know that there are some pretty decent wines out there around the $10 range. Keep plugging.
While the wines were disappointing, I continue to appreciate your reviews.
    Go Canes!

Jolly green giant pea juice with a dash of lemon…..super! Im still bewildered by the 50+ mark however….if you got a score above average at school you would be pretty happy so why not give this a 20 points…..scores baffle me

    QOTD: mmmm cannot remember

    Gary,

My wife says watch how your palate expands when you start tasting baby food.

Can’t wait for the new descriptions.

All of us cringed at the “drinking canned pea juice.”

It might be worth the buy for a “I dare you to taste it” evening with friends.

    Awesome!

Yes, laid back Friday would have been great today.

Maybe it’s me but almost any wine under 10 bones is going to stink to high heaven, especially any SOAVE. I have yet to try one that resembles wine.

As other posters have chimed in “widely available”? Not. Doesn’t matter anyway since they were a major PAZZZZZZZ.

QOTD: Geez, I have to apologize all the time for buying so much wine from WL. Sad, but true.

The B&G as an aperitif…I agree.
My last big apology was to my wife for spending over $1200 for orders from Wine Library! I did purchase way, way excellent wine though, and enjoyed every sip!
    Thanks, Gary!!
