Qotd – Best Bottle was an Alban Reva Syrah I gave my Dad for Christmas – best bottle I got is a toss up between a bottle of Dom P. for my wedding and a bottle of 99 Cinc Cepages (#2 wine – 95 points Spectator) from my Dad. That was the first wine that made me truly appreciate wine.

QOTD: I haven’t really given or received anything memorable seeing as I’m a part of the CKC. But, there are many more years to get nice bottles of wine!

I’m not in the league but I guess my best give is not an expensive wine but one that is meaningfull, last time I was in France, I have a Rhone wineI loved, Domaine de la Crillone 2007 old vines, so I went on a mission to find some but is was only available in restaurants, so I tracked down the adress of the domaine and did a major detour, got lost and basically spent a whole day finding the producer in his small town, I did and gave away my last bottle to a friend as a house warming gift.

Best I ever got was a Carneros Brown Ranch Pinot noir 2007 from that same friend.
