Oh wait, I’m a couple years too late.
Love Chablis by the way but until I had it recently, I used to think it was cheap garbage, so never bought it before, what a mistake.

    Gary,

If we are partying in January – it better be in LA. Lets go someplace “Rosey” in January!

The closest I can find of an autograph that matches the one on that mini-helmet is Chad Pennington (with a little number 10 under it)…

Doesnt matter where u have it, i expect to be there!!
How about closing the store early one nite and having it there!!
That will keep cost down, and we can spend more $ on the wine!!

Gary Great Show – You we’re pumped up!

What are the chances of the Jets beating Indy this week. I may pick it as a long shot in my pool. Can they win a shootout?

Where ever you have the Party I’m sure it will be great! I would favor something in New Jersey.

Gary, another great episode. Your Vblog rocks. What do you think of the white bordeauxs? and when are you doing the heat episode? QOD: Host the party at your place!

Thanks, SeanM! I’ll check it out.

Thought the NYers among the bunch might enjoy this news from NY Mag:
Liberated Plutocrats Free to Swill Cheap Wine
The rich keep getting richer: Word from one of our cognac-swilling, ascot-wearing friends is that caviar capital Petrossian, among the city’s most opulent spots, is waiving its corkage fees. This is actually quite a concession; most restaurants make their money from wine and liquor, of course, and a lot of top tables don’t let you bring your own wine in at all. “We don’t accept that, no,” a reservationist at Cru tells us helpfully, adding, “We do have an excellent wine selection.” Per Se, meanwhile, allows diners to bring their own â?? if they’re willing to shell out $90 a bottle to have it uncorked. In honor of their tax-breaks-for-the-rich generosity, we raise a glass to Petrossian â?? a glass of two-buck chuck, poured directly from a Trader Joe’s bag.

V a y n e r – C H U K – unleashed and off the Richter!! Big thanks for tasting some Chablis, which was one of my requests a few episodes ago when you were tasting the Sav Blancs. This gets me pumped for the upcoming episode on Sancerre, whevever that might be. Gary I agree with one of the other commenters. Great for one-time effect, but please lose the green screen behind you. It messes with the view on color, especially when you do whites. Still looking forward to an episode where you answer a bevy of wine-related questions. QOTD: Hard to imagine a better place than NYC. So many options to choose from, and you could have your entourage scope the place beforehand.

  • Great episode again. A party in DC would be great. No way I could get up to NYC or even NJ over a weekend.
One of the many who tried to order the Corte Riva. Will WL be getting any more?

Great episode gary. Just like watching NFL primetime or Sports Center after a Jets win. I got a question for you. You were so gracious about giving free shipping for any city that beats the Jets, what about us Jets fans here in NYC? As for your QOD NYC would be perfect for us locals and we all know the City could use the extra tourism $$ from the 10,000 WLTV viewers coming for the big party.

  • Gary,

Great episode, loved the Jets green in the background! I just wanted to inform you that in the wireless industry (the one I work in) that bluetooth headset is also known as a “dork flag”. You can always tell who the dorks are in a room by their dork flags. Feel free to use the term!

I just thought of a new sign off

WineLibrary TV – Wearing dork flags so you don’t have to!

Come on. You gotta do it either in San Francisco or up in Napa/Sonoma. You people are wine geeks for f’s sake. Gary could call in a few favors, get some of the winemakes involved….

Gary could also probably get the chance to point out that the Jets ended up with more wins than the Niners and the Raiders combined in 06. I know he’d love to do that. I dunno, guess it’s an east coast audience out there.

    Gary-
    Great episode!
As usual, I love your energy. I give this a 98.
Not sure about the lime green backround….
Is that a Jabra I spot? I hope it works well and I hope you actually use the thing!
Once again you are challenging us. I had never even heard of White Burgandy.
Thanks again for the info and the energy!:)

    Chris-

Excellent enthusiam today, Gary! You definitely made my mid-afternoon at work much more pleasant. Must be nice when your team wins on Sunday. Hope the smiles keep coming for you (as long as it isn’t against the Pats)!

Selfishly I’d like to see the WLTV Tasting Party in Denver, but I’ll also be in Santa Barbera for MLK Weekend (Jan 13-15). What better place to escape the northeast winter and have a January wine tasting than sunny SB? Later,

    hi Chris,
thanks for all the great work on the spreadsheet! i disagree with you, however. having the gv recommended wines is great, but remember for many of the episodes gv buy/pass rating also factored in price so it’s quite possible there are pass wines from previous episodes that many people (perhaps with deep pockets) would enjoy. they may be flavor profiles gv wasn’t in to that others might enjoy. this information is lost without all the wines tasted. i think having the complete list would make the resource even more useful.

of course, at some point you guys (chris and WL IT people) will have to reconsider the interface. consider adding filtering options to list such as gv’s buy/pass rating, minimum gv wine ratings, regions, red/white, etc. this will help people find the reviews they are looking for. just a suggestion!

thanks again for the great work chris and gv(+staff)!

  • the professor and….

Gary, Glad to hear your taking my suggestion and bringing all of use WLTV dorks together. I wish there was space at the library to have it, that would be perfect. Where can you fit 10,000 viewers? Giants (sorry, Jets) stadium? Good episode, sic energy. What’s up with the green background? Does it have anything to do with the upcoming 100th?

  • Great EP. Rating: 93.

This EP would have gotten a 94 rating, but when I went to buy the wine it was sold out. 🙂

i’m excited about you learning to pronounce the french and german wines right.
on the one hand, it would take some fun out of your show. i’m from germany and i do speak french and it’s so much fun when i read the name of the wine which was actually ment after you pronounced it totally wrong.
on the other hand, i do believe it will be even more fun to watch you trying to pronounce the names right and still beeing absolutely wrong!
well, we’ll see… greetings from germany.

QOD would have to be in NJ…WL is less than 15 min from Newark airport…

Wow…a WLTV tasting…I have actually missed the WL wine classes and think that it would be great.

Great episode regarding the white burgundies and hurray to the person who sent you the book on how to pronounce French wines, especailly Pouilly-Fuisse. Think of it as “poo-yee fwee-say.”

Have a great time in DC, the city where I call home and my vote to host the WLTV winefest.

Oh, one last thing, my Colts (I was an old Baltimore Colts season ticket holder) will destroy your Jets!!!

    Sorry, it will get ugly.

Comment #38 – Awesome video! But I hate the Broncos, Elway, The Drive, The Fumble…and the color orange.
