MarcT, I still say TIP-OFF. Why would WS spend HUGE HUGE bucs (or as Gary would say…BONES) to run an add today that advertises a free access period from Oct. 16 to Oct. 31. Heck today is the 25th already. Spending HUGE HUGE money to run an add that is already 10 days into it’s 14 day target period. Something just doesn’t make sense with that, other than TIP-OFF.

    Speaking of Pintos …

    Hi TimF,

    Thanks for the link.

It seems that there is not much out there in the US press/web about full-on red sparklers. I have had a couple of German ones that are very interesting from a tasting and novelty perspective. However it seems to be a more localized market for these. The most we see is the Rose variety.

    Cheers,
    Mike E.

Wow… comments section out of control! Anybody still reading? That’s the problem with trying to catch up on past episodes, your comments are no longer relevant.

Anyway… SS Chris, keep the name!

QOD: I have no answer, since not much of a champagne guy. We like it, just don’t covet it. But Gary has inspired, so I’ll have to pick up a bottle or 2!

I’m feeling good today – Gary mentioned my blog last night and my ‘2017’ order arrived today.

It was a small order (only 5 bottles) but I appreciate the free shipping Gary.
    2002 Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Knight’s Valley $18.99
2004 St. Cosme Les Deux Albions Cotes Du Rhone Rouge $13.99 ($23.99 in Dayton, OH -yikes!)
    2004 Syncline Syrah Milbrandt $20.99
2004 Rosenblum Petite Sirah Heritage Clones $14.99
NV Charles De Fere Jean Louis Brut $6.99

I has hoping that we might find a ‘free shipping’ Easter Egg hidden somewhere in the NYT ad but no such luck.

    From wiki:

Super Sport, or SS, is an option package offered by Chevrolet on many of its vehicle lines since 1961. Some of the better-known models to bear the SS badge include the Camaro, Chevelle, El Camino, Impala, and Nova. Originally introduced in 1961 as an appearance package for the Impala, it became a high-performance package in 1966.

Until the Impala SS was brought back in 1994, the Super Sport package was only available on two-door passenger cars. Since then, however, the SS package has been used on a variety of GM vehicles, including pickup trucks, four-door sedans, and front wheel drive cars.

Both historically and today, the Super Sport package has typically included high-performance tires, heavy-duty suspension, and increased power, along with a variety of other performance and appearance upgrades. All SS models have come with “SS” markings.

Newer SS models are the Chevrolet Cobalt SS, Chevrolet Impala SS, Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, and the Silverado SS, along with the Trailblazer SS.

Swallow Sidecars called their cars ‘SS Cars’ (ancestor of Jaguar) but dropped the name in 1945 due to the connotation with Hitler’s regime.
