Awesome ep Gary. Keep ’em coming.

QOD: To be honest, I don’t think I ever stop caring what respected people think of me. If I care for or respect someone, I never like letting them down.

  • I can see that Brooklyn..good answer.
I was thinking more along the lines of, I can’t wear that shirt cause so and so doesn’t like it, childish kind of stuff.

I don’t know guys, I think I have reached the point in my life where I can honestly say I don’t really care what other people think of me. The only exception to this would be my family, I always will and feel I have to care what my family thinks of me. However I am 43 now and I don’t think this occurred until just the last few years.

  • Charles

Screw Karl S. What the hell dude? I think someone else needs to remove the stick.

Stopped caring in 11th grade. Thought I’d stopped after 8th, but high school was a rude awakening.

    Gary-
Love the scene change! Love this episode!
    :):):)
Love the couch! Love the energy!
I agree – wine is fun and should always be FUN!
Was the guy who did the spit bucket the same guy as the bathroom guy?
What year did you move to the United States?
    Just curious.
    Very funny and creative episode.
Please do more ‘on the couch’ episodes
where we can see some scene changes.
    Keep up the great work!
    QOD:
When I was a Freshman in High School – 15 years old, I stopped trying to impress others.
    Glad to see
    WLTV
    in Wine Spectator!

Awesome episode. Keep changing things up, that’s what makes the show great! And please keep answering our questions. Now I have one for you…were you in the studio with Martha today or was it by phone? If you were in the studio, is she a babe in person?

That looked like fun today. Even the well-timed reminder about ‘wine is meant to be fun’ was comfortably delivered. It helps to know you are looking in on the forum, because I’m betting even those who say they don’t care what others think would prefer to have you approve of their forum manners.

Wow, I’m mentioned on WLTV! You made my day, Gary. Thanks for the WWE history lesson. I thought Hogan looked a little like Ned Beatty there for a minute.

    GV,

Cool episode. The couch was a nice touch. I also listed to you on Martha Stewart’s radio show. So did you meet her? Is she cool or a stiff?

BTW what the heck is cream de-cassis?

QOTD I probably stopped caring what others think of me my first semester in college.

It’s good to be back. Awesome show GV! Do you have any speaking roles for your staff? And were are the credits –

Guy walking aimlessly – John Doe
Hand behind couch – Jane Doe

Drowned smurfs and cork tossing: is this indicative of too many wine tastings today? Sometimes credibility suffers when dignity declines. Energy is best when it appears to be in control.

I love WLTV as much as everyone else but I think your last 2 episodes are going in the wrong direction my friend. I agree that wine should be ‘fun’ and not intimidating but since when is your target audience 15 and 16 year olds???

GV, Maybe the best episode yet. How you manage to not even break stride after hearing the toilet flush and seeing your compadre walking by wiping his hands on his pants is beyond me. And being called out for your shenanigans one question after yanking a tree branch out of your ass? I just don’t know where you go from here.

My only complaint? Dude, it’s Friday. Swallow for pete’s sake.

QOTD: I would have to say it started with the sophomore year (HS) rebellion. Garage band, trench coat, warm six packs, and Bono mullet. (It was the 80’s, after all).

You mentioned me on the air! How cool is that! I served Thorne Clark Shotfire Shiraz and it was a great with the chicken. I think that wine would be great with cardboard.

I have another question. I noticed when you were “relaxing” after you had already officially tasted today’s wine, you took a sip of wine and still swished around in your mouth for a few seconds before swallowing. When you go out to dinner or you’re enjoying wine at home…do you always swish it around a little before you drink it??

  • Capt M

I laughed my butt off watching this episode this evening. What a way to end the week! Wine is all about fun and good time, about being healthy and happy. I stopped caring about what my peers said when I was like in 7th grade. I’ve always gone my own way, and some like me and admire me for who I am. Some just don’t. I bet many of the people who regularly watch this show have some things in common. Otherwise, we just would not (watch Gary), like many others might have chosen to do. I’m proud of WLTV. BTW, I had a Cotes du Rhone this evening with dinner. I’ve had too many old world wines this week. Enough of it, give me an explosive fruit bomb!!
