Great job with the intro on the Grenache grape.

I gotta try the Kaesler. It sounds exactly how I like it.

Have a safe trip to Atlanta.

Nothing fancy, I’ll be drinking N.V. Pierre Moncuit Champagne Cuvée Pierre Moncuit-Delos Blanc de Blancs Brut Grand Cru, which I picked up on your recommendation a while back when you did a Champagne episode. That’s what I’ll be having around midnight, after dinner.

Eugene, thanks for realizing “number posting” is dumb. Now, my friend, take the next step…

Driven by petrol flavors, high alcohol, a lot of acidity- did someone pour some Chevron Super Unleaded in your bottle? Will have to pass on the Domaine Magellan Grenache Blanc.

Regarding the Bonny Doon Clos Gilroy Grenache- floral pudding? Jason Hicks, save this one. My mom never served me that.

I saw the mini VaynerClank with the Kilikanoon. Don’t think I have ever seen Gary score a wine 89 points with a clank of the teeth.

I love the VaynerDribble down the bottle of The Fave.

Thank you for doing the show today. I know we rode you hard in the forum, but you served us the first hit of crack, we are just craving more and more. I agree with other posters- bank a few so when needed, you can take the “day” off.

QOD: haven’t thought that far in advance.

Sorry about the Jets bro. Let’s drown our sorrows in the ATL tonight.

    Gary,

I am drinking a NV Schramsberg North Coast Mirabelle Brut Rose Sparkling Wine. Good stuff…and it was quite affordable too. If you’ve never tasted it…wonderful body, great acidity, nice balance, plenty of yeasty/honey notes, and firmer tannins than most brut roses that I have tried. I have nothing selected for dinner yet. It will be a standing rib roast as an entree. Any suggestions of what I should drink in the $15-$30 range? Thanks Gary

No garlic in the Clos du Gilroy? I’m disappointed as that is the classic note in this wine. I haven’t had this vintage, but it usually screams “GARLIC!!!!” out of the glass I might have to pass on this one.

I’ve been lurking for a little over a week now – didn’t come out this weekend, but thought I’d get into it today! Cheers on the site, nice design and I love the tasting videos. Not sure what I’m drinking for New Year’s – I’ll probably pull out one of the decent bottles in the collection, since I’m not a fan of sparklers. Thanks for the grenache review, my girlfriend will love it!

  • Steve B

Glad to see the Bonny Doon due well.

Rumor alert – Gary goes both ways 🙂

Gary- Sorry about the Jets. Don’t give up, they have a very winnable game next week vs. ViQueens.

Thanks for the Grenache episode. We drink a lot of it, Spain and France mostly.

QOD- Canada Dry Ginger Ale in flutes with the kids.

Great episode GV. Thanks for taping 2 today.

So you go both ways, eh? That explains the Smurf and Strawberry Shortcake collection.

Not sure what I’m drinking for NYE…first I have to decide on the wines for Xmas Eve and Xmas Day.

    Safe travels to ATL.

    Great show

QOD: Haven’t even thought about NYD yet. I usually stick to Samuel Adams but who knows I might try a Grenache for the first time.

QOD: Haven’t figured out New Years Eve vino yet. Needless to say it will be bubbly…

NYJ: I think this week we see what kind of coach Eric Mangini is — can he get this team up and prepared to win this “must-win” game against a very beatable Minny team? Win out and they’ve still got a reasonable chance, given the schedules of the other contenders. A big test for the Jets and this rookie coach. GO JETS!

Kevin Mitchell: Surprisingly a quick google and youtube search did not turn up the Kevin Mitchell catch (which I remember VERY well!). If anyone finds it, post a link — a GREAT catch. BTW, David Wright made a similar catch last year I believe…
