QOTD- Last night I drank Braut & Sistra Cab Sonoma 2002.

I am still in the first yers of drinking wine but am turned off just by the description of those Bordeaux wines. I tried the Chateau Cantelys that you raved about and thought it smelled like garbage and dirty feet. Maybe that was what they were going for but I thought it was gross. This might be a region that I need to stay away from which might be better for my wallet in the long run. Any that you could suggest that are a good blend between California and Bordeaux?

i am a late semi-lurker. QOTD — last night (friday) it was Bodega Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha 2005. a very nice surprise. big wine for 17 bucks. tonight (sat.) Acheval Ferrer Malbec 2005, also good. Got a Bighorn cab calling my name…next weekend.

QOTD: Trying “Big House Red” for the first time, followed up by a nice little dose of Bruichladdich.

nothing special, just a basic 2004 Sterling Vintner’s Collection Cabernet Sauvignon. Tastey though!
