Quick point: love the angst around the Demartino, I identify with the feeling. Reminds me of dropping nice money on wine at a restaurant and getting liquid Mierda.

QOTD: Donating my car to the american diabetes association (I’m kindof a tightwad, giving stuff away is hard). Felt great to know I was doing some good for some anonymous strangers.

I’m not going to rant and rave about the “things that I have done” but I will say that the formost thing that I have done that has FELT SO RIGHT is being alive, doesnt it kick @$$. There may be hardships, there may be times that do not necessarily feel so great, but damn, when you look back and see what’s taken place (good or bad), it is amazing to put the peices together and really see where you come from. This insight is really what is great!

BTW, the Chi-tizle loves a great time and…WHOA, it was had by all on FRI!!!

QOTD: Retirement !!!

I had a kid working for me three years ago who confided in me that he couldn’t wait until he was eighteen to drop out of school. He had missed over 50 days of class that year, and it didn’t appear that his folks really cared about it. He enjoyed working for me, and I told him that, while he could do whatever he wanted, if he dropped out, he wouldn’t work for me anymore. He stayed in, started going to class, raised his GPA, and has now been accepted to the CIA. That’s the kind of stuff that makes me feel good.

Black Bart’s Bride is MIA!! That didn’t last long.
QOD: Yes, but I don’t want to toot my own horn; I’ll try to follow GV’s example of humility. 😉

I did not comment on the italian whites episode, cause I was so busy these days, but I don’t want to keep it inside: that was a GREAT episode. Congratulations to all in the Chicago group. The raffle video is very fun and cool to watch. I guess today is going to be fun, because the veoh contest is now close. Will the finalists be announced this Friday? QOTD: Deciding to quit tennis. I was at a tournament in Jamaica and I just knew that I was done. It was a great feeling in the sense that I was glad I gave it a shot and now know how I measure up. Otherwise, I would have always wondered. With tennis out of the way, it was like a whole new world was opening up to me and that was exciting.

QOD: anytime I get to stand on the top of a mountain overlooking a valley below or stand on the bow of a ship smelling a fresh breeze off the water.. or playing with a new pup and getting a whiff of puppy breath. THAT just feels right.

QOTD: Marrying my wife and having an actual “wedding”. There was no doubt that I wanted to marry her but I wasn’t too excited about the wedding. It was one of the best experiences of my life and couldn’t have felt “more right”.

Hey Gary-
Interesting episode. Another really good winery from Santa Barbara County is called Wild Heart. Their Chard. and Viognier are VERY big, new world wines, but are complex, rich, and smooth.

QotD- This may not seem to go outside the box, but something that just felt right was getting into the wine business at the age of 23. I have such a passion for life, family, food, & wine that I decided to jump into the business with both feet. What really made me think about this was when I discovered what the ancient Greeks would ask when a felow Greek died. The simple question was “did he have passion?” If the answer was yes, than his life was considered a full and rich life. If the answer was no, than his life was viewed as a waste. Because of this, I figure that if I do what I love…I’ll never work a day in my life!

QOTD, As you said, other than getting married, moving back to NYC from Nashville is definitely a “feel so right” decision for me.

I would have love to have been there, but I was out of town. So, I’m glad you enjoyed our town. I love it. I’m actually going to be in NY next weekend (on business), but I’m going to try and swing by your store, but I don’t think I’m going to have any free time.

QOD: I don’t know. I guess, when I was younger and was in a couple punk-rock bands and used to write a fanzine that went out all over the place. Those were great days and I made a ton of friends that I wouldn’t have otherwise. And I spent my days (when not working) just listeing to music and writing and drawing constantly. It was a great time in my life.
