    Great new look!

Would have been great to have a slideshow of wristband photos while the music was playing at the end (just sent a photo of my daughter with the schwag!)

    Gary,
are you sure you wouldn’t have bashed the Elderton Command if you didn’t know RP score? I am not polemic, it’s just that it seems you don’t like oak monsters as RP does (and I agree with you). Why then did you give it a 90?

I like the new WLTV look. Good job to all WL staff!

Nuts in your mouth? Are you freaking kidding me! I guess nothing you do should surprise me. What’s the song all about, maybe I missed something. I really like the new look here, I haven’t checked it out yet, but hopefully you made looking through the archive episodes easier. I also very much like the larger screen, though with the smaller one I could see more of the other information and comments without having to scroll down. Is it just me or is the sound quality alot higher?

  • The new digs are phat!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, you can really show the color of wine really well now. I had the ’05 Sincerely several days ago, and the color of it on screen exactly matches what I had. The scale and lighting is significantly better now. Kudos GV and crew.

Long time lurker. Thought I would get in on the mix now that you have the new digs. I like the new format — it really highlights the color of the wine on the video and there are many cool options & links now on the entire page. Had the ’02 Elderton Command a few days ago and it was awesome — plush dark fruit with a great, long finish. Keep up the great work Gary!

A bit askew (on Firefox), but I love the larger sized viewscreen. I can actually see your face, Gary! Woohoo! 🙂

It still needs a bit of tweaking, I think, but overall its a positive change.

Gary, I like the new WLTV layout. It makes sense to use up as much of the screen as you can. Your super-sized video played as fast as usual–it did not “hang up” and have loading issues, as usually happens when I try to watch large movies on my rather slow-processored Mac.

Mac Users Beware: The compatibility issue noted by JavaMonkey, regarding the Mac Firefox browser, is real. In order to see ALL of the new show’s format, I had to shut down my Firefox and open WLTV up using Safari. You probably will want to state this information upfront somewhere on your site, so that your Mac users don’t waste their time and then throw hissy-fits…

OK, I now have egg on my face. Gary e-mailed, “Refresh,” and it worked like magic. So, no incompatibility issue with Firefox, but still, I think that a note on the website, such as, “Having trouble viewing this video? Hit your refresh button. If that doesn’t work, then……(fill in the blank).”

Honestly, I don’t see what the big deal is…. A slightly larger video, some new colors, and new names for a few links — to me it’s no different than putting a new label on a wine bottle: it looks a bit different, but the overall experience is the same. It’s the same delicious juice, just wrapped up differently — and we don’t drink the label. 😉

Although this isn’t really a complaint, I am curious about why you chose to provide Cork’d links at the exclusion of CellarTracker (and all other services). Is this just personal preference? Do you have some secret history with CellarTracker? Is there some sort of deal going on in the shadows?

  • Nice. I dig the new video size… I had been sticking with viewing the quicktime version, just so I could resize it on playback.

So what’s the story about the layout though? It looks nice and all, but is this just a flattery thing with cork’d, or are you guys hooking up, or what?

    Nice new page….

My Safari doesn’t seem to like it though….er, jumbled

    Firefox agrees with it.

  • the new design is nice but looks like too much other »wordpress« or »movable type« sites do today, for example »cork’d«. i give it a pass. sorry for that. nevertheless i like the tv. it is still fresh but complex. like a good claret.

QOTD: I love the bigger viewing window (who wouldn’t want a bigger view of Big G.)
BUT I have to say that the alignment is a little off– the window is aligned to the right, but the heading is on the left, and it isn’t as organized to the eye as the last setup, but this could definitely just be my browser (mozilla firefox).

I’m sure any minor kinks will be worked out, and it’s great to have you back!

I just love the new look of the site. Dan Cederholm made a great great job creating this design. The integration with Cork’d and Twitter is really cool as well. Well, WLTV is now part of Wine 2.0, there’s no doubt about it 🙂

  • Hey Gary V
Love the new viewing window but like YoungDave above commented when using Mozilla Firefox as I do, the site is mis-aligned. I opened it in MSE and it looks killer and I like the integration with Corked. I am sure the issues with Mozilla are just a programming fix, i.e. the way layers used to screw up in Netscape back in the day.

    Have a good weekend.
