Haven’t tried a few of the wallet busters: barolo, super tuscan…a good bordeaux. Enjoy drinking muscadet. I enjoy the simple mineral taste.

Never tried a Muscadet…like reds better but what a good value to try!! will recommend it to my “whitey” friends!

Never have tried a Barolo…price point to high…but would love to visit them!

Haven’t had the pleasure of the Spanish wine in general, or any South African ones either. Both I hear have some phenomenal ones to choose from.

QOTD: Austria is probably the area I haven’t experienced as yet. I have had other Loire varieties, but not Muscadet………I’ll look for some of these.

qotd- i really need to explore the loire valley, the northern rhone and langudoc-rousillion. also, i’ve never had the pleasure of drinking a DRC…poor me.

Muscadet:
This seems like a great wine to try, but I’m leary because most white wines seem to taste like either a Chardonnay or a Sauvignon blanc. Is this a common phenomenon with new wine drinkers? Or could it be that I’m not sampling wines from different regions of the world?

QOTD:
Piedmont! I’ve read about this great Italian region, but have not as yet had a Barbera, Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Grignolino, Malvasia. I’m definitely missing out!

QOTD: I have yet to try a wine from Priorat in Spain. I just started drinking Ribero de Duero wines and they are stellar. I’m part of the 91.6% but I think I’ll be trying one in a few days. Now that summer is here in Florida A nice glass of really cold white wine is great when you get home from work. Wow, come to think of it i’ve never had A wine from South Africa either, i’ve got some work to do.

I’ve never had Muscadet, but I have had Muscat. (I know, probably not the same thing.)

QOTD: I’ve tasted but have never really had a Shiraz/Syrah before. I’ve also never had any true Old World wines (champagne, burgundy, Bordeauxs) or Italian wines other than one pinot grigio that I didn’t particularly like *cough*Folonari*cough*. And I still haven’t had a Pinot Noir.

good episode. i’ve never tried one of these, although i’ve checked them out at the local store. i’m always afraid that they’re going to taste like nothing. but the oysters comment… i’ll have to grab a couple of bottles of this and shuck a few dozen and see how it pans out!

I have really been tasting Reislings, Gewurztraminer and New Zealand Pinot Noirs. I also have been doing a lot of ports and that is about it. I am fairly new to the wine world so that would explain it. I would love to try some Ice Wines from Germany, anything from the Finger Lakes area, some French and Italian wines. I really love sweet wines if you haven’t noticed can’t explain why I like Pinots from New Zealand though.

Gary, Touche! I was just going to ask about a muscadet show and Voila! In fact, you reviewed one I had last night! We concur. Been drinking them for decades. Here on the Chesapeake they are soldiers. QOTD: Haven’t had a super tuscan yet. I’m an Old World guy.

Excellent episode. Perfect timing as I am trying to fill out our white wine ‘summer’ needs. Had totally forgotten about muscadet, which I have enjoyed in the past. QOTD – many of the ‘Italian’ grapes.
