Gary, You’re right again. I’ve never had a Gewurz, but I just threw 2 in my cart. Thanks

QOD: OHIO! Your beloved Jets are playing my (not as beloved) Bengals the weekend of October 19-21. Great time to visit southern Ohio!

BTW, Stephane, about 17 comments up, sounds kinda scary. Is that some kind of French greeting or something? If so, I’ll never get my husband to visit France with me!! 🙂

QOTD: You need to make a trip to Houston for the late Fall or the winter and enjoy our excellent weather. Summer is not the time to be here but Winter is nice.

Love the gewurztraminer. Even more, I love listening to people try to pronounce it. I first tasted it when I was way too young sipping out of dads glass in the early eighties. Gary and I are the same age so I was definitely breaking some laws. I think it was fetzer we bought on some no-cal trips in the motorhome.

I have enjoyed the Lazy Creek and the Londer from California. Good wine. I don’t know why, but I usually buy Gewurztraminer in the fall kind of like pumpkins.

I’ve not tried Gewurztraminer wines before… I’ll have to seek them out. LOVE Thai food – really anything with spice to it!

QOTD: Gary, that is so simple… come to Virginia in the fall. The spa will be open (bring the wife and I’ll hook you guys up in the couples suite for some treatments). Our facility can even host a party for the Vayniac’s who might want to attend… shoot, I bet we could even get you some new Vayniac’s!!! Besides, I’d like to see what you think of some of our VA wines! See, simple!

Too sweet for my taste. Tried it many, many years ago (20 + years).
Visit the SouthEast – I am in Chapel Hill, NC but will travel close by. Places to consider are Charlotte and Atlanta where there are probably lots of Vayniacs.

This is my first time to your page but I love it!! I will certainly be watching more episodes. You’re funny and you have a great way of talking about wine. I think you should definitely make a trip to Seattle 🙂 You would be able to draw in so many wine lovers from all over the Pacific Northwest.

    GV,
Another new wine for me to try! Great!
QOTD: North Carolina, definitely. Gewurtz may even go with NC barbecue, although I think Zin would work with that too.

First off, never had this grape varietal before. QOTD: Come to the South! I’m in Tulsa, OK, but I don’t think there are a lot of Vayniacs here. I would go to Dallas, Kansas City, even possibly St. Louis to see the G-man himself. Does that make me a Vayniac groupie?

Or come to Oklahoma! We have wineries here that are pretty good. Heck, we even have a guest room you could use and an extra vehicle, so you wouldn’t have to rent a car. 😉 Seriously!

I think your next road trip should be to British Columbia,Canada. The Okanagan region is becoming world famous for their icewine, also Jackson Triggs winery has won numerous awards for their first class wine.
