    Hey, you guyssssssssssss…………..

    Classic indeed.

I love the rubbing the noses in the “sniffy sniff” don’t let ’em change you one bit.

No worries, I’ve got plenty of room in my pockets since I found WL.

I’m curious, is this a big seller? Otherwise, I’m not sure what the rationale is in carrying it unless it’s something you needed to take along with some package.

I say bring on a barrel sample of the ’06 Clone 5’s that we’re hearing about on the forums. Do a taste-off with an 05 if there are any left 😀

With Amarone, I find that you quite often get more bang for your buck with smaller producers, especially the ones that haven’t been discovered by the big magazines yet. Some of my personal favorites would be Le Salette, Begali, Bonazzi (who does some interesting Amarone-style wines with other varietals as well, e.g. 70% cab 30% oselata) or Antolini. That being said, great episode, can’t wait for the ripasso show! Who cares if it’s summer 😉

one of my summertime favorites, even more of a great deal here in Germany

  • I would like to see you review either Selaks Merlot Rose or a sparkling Shiraz (Seaview if you have it).

BTW I am a big fan of the Tommasi Amarone.

I’d love to you do up a Banyuls and a Coume Del Mas. Haven’t seen any in the archives. Here are a couple from WL:

    Helyos Banyuls 2002
    http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=26811&DCMP=ILC-alsolike

    Coume Del Mas Quintessence 2003
    http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=28102

Throw in some other sticky stuff and you’ve got a show. I’ll grant that summer weather doesn’t scream dessert wine, but anybody drinking these wines is probably springing for air conditioning, right?
