  • Although I quite enjoyed the Elegance Hour, I must note that Sir Vaynerchuk needs to work on his French vowels. Perhaps he could come for some informal lessons on my yacht, La Provencale. To make sure he does come, I will make sure to have some fine bottles of Pinot Gris on board.

I agree with KC Dan. Twice is enough for Sir Gary. No more cameos – he’s already lost his appeal. You can use him again next time you go off the deep end and have to slap us all back into line. Just be yourself (because we like you that way or we wouldn’t all be here) and don’t burn yourself out.

While many people seem to dislike Sir Gary’s pompous attitude, I think he represents an important lesson. Although wine is and should be fun, it also should be awarded some level of respect – after all it ISN’T lite beer or Pepsi – and too much American 7-11 Casualism can be dangerous as well lest wine be looked at as a fashion accessory or mere party favour. All of the nuance and history that Sir Gary speaks of actually does exist, and I think this tongue-in-cheek delivery is the perfect way to convey this concept in an inclusive manner. It must always be remembered that, in European countries, wine has been intermingled in the culture for more than 1000 years, and for them has much more meaning than a mere “beverage,” indeed for them, their wine is part of their very identity.

    Keep bringing the thunder, GV!

  • Hmmm, looks like the guest host is too good for the SF Vaynerglass.

Alright Gary, I’ve officially decided that you’ve completely ripped off my WineSnobberyTV idea. Oh well, I should have grown a sac and found a way to make that video a long time ago. It’s a hoot man, keep it up! (And feel free to be more mean and offensive; I think we can take it.)

QOTD: I started out drinking reds only (treating them like daily vitamins — tannin supplements, I suppose), but in the last several months I’ve been enjoying more and more whites. Right now, the ratio is probably about 60/40 (whites to reds) because I’ve been on a Riesling kick.

  • After watching this one question came to mind for you Gary V. have you ever been looked at as a stupid kid in the wine world? If so what did you do or say to over come these wrong first impressions?

ROFL, is Gary, oops, Sir Gary the Sybil of the wine world? QOTD: depends on the season. I drink more white in the summer and more red in the winter.

Perhaps GV can have Sir Gary on the show as a guest sometime, ala Batman and Bruce Wayne. Sir Gary’s understated and droll humor is a riot.

QOTD: 93% red, 7% white (about 50% of that white percentage is reisling).

  • Our percentage of whites rises with the change in seasons but if last night’s shopping cart is any indication our average is 85% reds, 10% whites and 5% bubbly or rose. Miss the G-man because pretense is over rated!

  • First!

Sir Gary Vaynerchuk needs his own line of shwag. Or maybe not if it outsells Gary Vay-ner-chuk’s shwag!

QOTD: 60/40 red during cold weather. During the summer, 60% white, 20% rose, 20% red.

I enjoy French white burgundy but have not had the exquisite pleasure of enjoying the Corton Charlemagne yet.

Who was that high brow dude you had doing this episode? All he talked about was high priced white burgundy that I can’t afford even with free shipping….take him out behind the barn and shoot him !!

QOTD – Overall, probably 50/50 with more whites during the summer and reds the rest of the year.

Sir Gary, Thank you so much for subbing for that loud, unsophisticated Gary. It was an honor and pleasure to hear from someone so totally arrogant and pompous. Tally ho. I drink about 90% red and 10% white.
