I happened upon a Sea Smoke botella 2005. Bought it! Wow!
No band-aid though. Lovely, lovely. Thanks. I like your enthusiasm.

Complaining about lack of comments, do you even read this 😉 – I just had some very interesting Czeck /Moravian wines in Prague last week. Ask me, if you get to it. It was seriously fun 🙂

I really, really want to try some sea smoke. Just wish I could find some for less than $50.

Are there any home wine makers around? I live in Malta (Europe) and would like to share a bottle of my Merlot to be viewed on this show. Would love to hear Gary’s Comments!!!.

I do make some wine. I live in Oakland, ca (s.f. bay area) and would also be interested in having any of my wine bashed on the show. We have a ’01 carignan (Lodi grapes), an ’03 cabernet (Dry Creek Valley grapes), and a ’05 Pinot Noit (Russian River Valley, Dutton Ranch grapes). Gary, I would also love to see a show dedicated to Kermit Lynch imports.

QOTD: Well, it is two weekends past, so I’ll tell you what we are doing this weekend. Today is a Rebholz Pinot Blanc – outstanding. Tomorrow we are going to a BBQ with folks from the office – I’m bringing a Tavel and a 1999 Quinault. Sunday is a watching the Cleveland Orchestra on the lawn at Blossom Music Center/ I’m thinking Garretson Mon Ami Syrah.

Sea Smoke is smokin tho you need to check out the Tandem Sangiacomo Pinot Noir 2004. It is awesome! We just did a high end pinot tasting and it beat out Donum 04 which was rated higher on Spectator as well as the Stemmler Nugent Pinot. I love the project you have going on. Are you working with any suppliers or distributors on this? Would be very cool to have a little of… YOu friggin rock and I love to watch your show.

  • ALRIGHT! I admit it!!! I’m a LURKER! You got me V-Man. I’ve been following since late July. I watched your episodes from WAAAAAY Back after hearing about it on Diggnation or XOLO.TV. I took this show on my iPod to Europe in early August, to West Canada late August. I’ve started a grind on it again today and intend to catch up.

I’ll start by saying this: I HATE wine. Hate it. But this show does something that I would never have expected from a wine taster. It brings a new life. I like shows that help bring down traditional methods and conditioning. Your energy makes me interested. It makes my WANT to try wine–and V-Man, let me tell you something… I STILL hate wine!

But that doesn’t matter! I am a sensate at heart and I’ll keep trying it in your name. I will continue to make people laugh by imitating you at parties (I’m usually already drunk though unlike you… I think). I’ll continue to redirect people to your show, and I’ll continue to find the courage to love to hate wine. Maybe one day you’ll change that dude!

I’ve been meaning to comment the last few months, but as a wine hater it’s intimidating. Now the game is on my man! Wait to see just how I intend to unlurker myself!!!

Keep up the awesome exciting and establishment-changing online video awesomeness! Thunder my man, I hear The Thunder!

Still searching for Burgundy that makes me that happy. Any suggestions?

This is my first time watching this show. I have to admit: I absolutely loved it. This is a lot of fun. I like your style a lot. Your comments on Sea Smoke Pinot Noir were right on. I have tried all three except the Ten (but I got a couple of bottles in the cellar waiting for the right occasion). I keep hearing from everyone who’s tried Ten that it still closed. I even met someone who had the chance to visit the winery and had Ten from the barrel. His opinion was that it needs loooooooong time cellaring. The fun thing about Sea Smoke wines is that you can approach them now or later, but whenever you do it, the wine will blow you away. This is one you gotta share with your friends! I know they’re hard to find, but keep looking, and you’ll get lucky. Thanks for this great episode. I will start watching the others. Great idea you have here with you program. Sorry I joined so late in the game. I gotta lot to do to catch up! 250 episodes…..crap. 🙂

    In vino veritas!

Looked at your episode 291. Just got notified of my allocation for Sea Smoke…can’t wait to try it. 2007 Southing and Ten in the allocation. Based on your 2005 review, looks promising!

I’m done being a “lurker,” Gary, but I only discovered Wine Library TV a couple weeks ago. I just got onto the Sea Smoke mailing list, which (according to them) will be a long, 8-year wait for me! But thanks to one of your other episodes, I’m now on the Black Kite pinot mailing list, as well as Kelly Fleming. Just bought your book and can’t wait to try the entries. All best, Cy
