Well, Gary if making this show 5 days a week is getting too much for you, I think maybe just do it once a week. I mean you don’t owe us anything, so if once a week is all you can do this, I don’t think anybody who follow your show will have a problem with that. I’m currently interning in a TV station, so I know how much work needed to be put in even for a 20 minute video. Just keep it up as long as you can, I’m having so much fun watching the show and learning so much from you it is just absolutely amazing!!!

QOTD: Definitely the 3 months I spent volunteer at UCLA hospital, helping little kids with various mental disabilities, and hrough different activities to teach them how to behave properly in a social setting. It was just a great experience.

I am a college student who was honestly really cut up about you announcing your “retirement.” All I can say is thank you and that I can’t be happier about your decision to keep the show going. You really have become a part of my everday life and I couldn’t imagine life without seeing your show. Everyday you bring a smile to my face and I can’t say thank you enough. Your truly an inspiration. I’m actually in the process of opening my own winery. I’m a chemical engineering student at the Univesity of Pittsburgh (don’t worry, I Facebook befriended you a long while ago!) and I am looking to apply my engineering knowledge to the wine world. QOTD: cooking. it’s a simple every-day sort of thing, but it’s fun and rewarding. you can do it with friends and family or for them, for the yummie food at the end or for the challenge of trying your hand at something new.

One of your best episodes!! You picked an obscure wine (for me..I’ve heard of Montefalco, but not Sagrantino) and brought it to everyones attention. I love, no LOVE the indigenous Italian varietals. My idea for you would be to, let’s say once a week, or less often, you highlight an area, or wine, and SHOW IT ON A MAP on the other side of your chalkychalkboard! When one says Umbria to your audience, I guarantee, people don’t remember it past the end of your sentence, if that long. If people can remember a few varietals with a few regions, their learning will be excellerated.

best thing? I’ve given loads of shirts off my back for others, even if i’ve had to shiver and sometimes freeze. And i wouldn’t take a single one back… at the end of the day, isn’t the true measure of our existence simply how we treat others? how we support the dreams around us because we understand that together, we are strongest?

QOTD: Realizing that random acts of kindness can truly change the world has allowed me to focus on whatâ??s really important in life!! “Saving” Christmas for a student’s family continues to be a poignant moment in my life. They were suddenly homeless and had no money due to some very unfortunate circumstances. I helped organize an effort to raise money so the family would be able to rent an apartment. I also took the kids shopping so that they could buy presents for each member of their family. What an amazing experience!!! Since then, I seek out students who are in need and take them and a friend to dinner, shopping, movies etcâ?¦ Just like you GVâ?¦I get TONS more back knowing that Iâ??m helping to change the worldâ?¦with just a little bit of me. Thanks for continuing to be an inspiration!

QOTD: The group in my improv class at Second City is probably the most tight-knit, in-tune-with-each-other and talented group of people outside of my family, and performing with them is one of the most uniquely creative and funny things I’ve ever been a part of.

I’m really glad you’re continuing the show, Gary. I hope this is the right choice for you and your family, not just for your huge following out here in cyberspace.

QOTD: This is a hard question, but I think my answer has to be that a few years ago I lost about half of my body weight (without giving up wine, of course 🙂 ), and transformed myself from a morbidly obese computer-geek desk jockey to a fit, athletic person. This is sort of a self-serving accomplishment, I guess, but it has made me so much more able to serve family, friends, and my community. (And I’m just about to turn 60; it’s never too late to change.)

Thanks for keeping WLTV going, for now, GV. I’m in the “1 or 2 shows a week would be great” crowd. You’ve created a monster, and it’s not the Oakmonster, either! Run some of the last 392 shows once or twice a week — the new Vayniacs may be a little intimidated by the number of episodes you’ve already recorded, but they’re going to miss out on some great info. And it’s good for all of us to know exactly from whence The Thundershow has come.

QOTD: Lots of memorable non-family experiences … most involved near-death situations when I was younger and less apt to plan for emergencies. Camping at Medicine Grizzly Lake in Glacier N.P. was pristine; night sailing on the Pamlico in a wicked gale watching bioluminescent jellyfish fly over the rail was surreal. Hoping golf trip to Scotland with friends this summer will be the new #1.

I’m reassured now that WLTV will not stop, because it’s the show that made me interested in wines. Before when I went to a restaurant I didn’t know which wine to choose, and now thanks to Gary, I know! And my friends and family also like my choices.
Just for that I want to give a huge shoutout to Gary! Thank you guy! You’re awsome!

I don’t think I have watched a single episode of WLTV where I didn’t smile and/or laugh at least a couple times. That includes the episodes I watched after some absolutely brutal days at work.
