GARY!

I’m a long time lurker, and I’m coming out of the woodworks just to say thanks for deciding to keep it up! You had me real worried there for a while. WLTV is always the start of my evening relaxing (i watch it on my ipod during my commute home from work). Glad to hear you’re gonna keep it up!

Oh Gary! I’m so glad you are staying!!!! I was kind of flipping out yesterday, but know I’m content in knowing I’ll have you around for many episodes to come. Outside my family, I guess I’m proud of my music accomplishments. I work as a jazz singer, and I’ve sung with a couple of my musical idols. That was incredible.

I’m glad you are continuing with the show. I enjoy watching it and I use your show as ‘homework’ for students in my wine classes. I’m doing a class right now on improving the wine palate, with plenty of Episode 148 flavor to it!

I was getting worried there, Gary! I only found this show 2 weeks ago! It would have been tragic to end it now. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait until I can find the time to make a trip up to the Wine Library.

QOTD: I would have to say that 2 things (other than family and those I love) make up my most valued projects and experiences: writing and traveling. Writing is SO rewarding for me; and I’m currently writing a Sci Fi novel (Working name: “Fever Dream Prophets” Look for it in a couple years!). And I LOVE traveling, meeting new people, bearing witness to other cultures. Top of my list are India and Eastern Europe.

Yeah, here’s the thing about the possibility of your “leaving” the show: You’ve basically created a small army of wine zombies who would hunt you down like you were a shorter, much whiter, Will Smith. I wouldn’t advise it. Because, see, they LOVE you *now*, but leave them in the lurch, without their daily dose? And, dude, I don’t know if you watch the Wire, but you DO NOT wanna cut off a crackhead–not pretty. Also, and as head librarian there’s the, ah, “much less important” issue of revenue generation > w i n k

The greatest non-family thing? Being a leader for Toastmasters Youth Leadership programs several times.

Ahh…that was scary for a few moments there. Obviously good to hear you’ve decided against the unthinkable (for now at least!)

(I’d answer the QOTD but it’s such a huge question I can’t seem to single any one thing out!)

I love Sangratino. I was thrilled that you were so enthuesed about these wines. You had great descriptors for these wines.

QOTD: I have been involved with a Gulf Coast condominium, serving as Treasurer and Board Member for the last six years. We had good times the first year, and then Hurricane Ivan hit us dead center. It was one of the most difficult situations I have ever been in, but the experience taught me more lessons than any thing I have ever been through. Struggling together with 93 other unit owners for the 3-4 years required for our recovery from the storm built relationships and learning experiences that literally substantially changed my basic perspectives on life. I am now completing my sixth year as Treasurer, and had intended to not stand for re-election….simply because I thought it was time for new blood to take the helm. After extended discussions with so many of the owners, I realized how much I had come to enjoy the experience of working with this great group of people, and decided to stand for re-election. I think I feel like you do about the Veyniacks.

Gv- Glad your sticking around buddy. Sagrantino? This is why I love this show. I have never heard of that in my life. And apparently, it rocks! QOTD: despite it destroying my twenties completing a pediatrics residency to help ill children.

GV So very happy to hear that your are staying. I also want to backup what another vainiac said. Feel free to take vactions and don’t kill yourself with tapings… We understand, we will miss you but it will make the return show better.

QOTD: getting involved with a local group in my area. I have meet some really great people and we have done some really cool things.

QOTD: Got to be with my girlfriend last summer. My girlfriend counts as non-family, right?

QOTD: Since I consider my fiends my family, I would have to say ski or perhaps walk the streets of Berlin with someone I had only just met or perhaps walk out half a mile on the exposed shore at low tide in Alaska or walk barefoot on the high mountain tundra in the back country of Denali Alaska.

One night sleeping on a park bench in Paris and the next night staying at Chateau Saran, the home of Moet & Chandon, where I dined with the Count Chandon-Moet and the Thai ambassador to France.

I knew you couldn’t quit WLTV, so I wasn’t really scared, but I’m glad you’re sticking around. I’m also glad you’ll be coming to Boston very soon. I’m excited to attend my first big tasting and to meet you(of course).

QOTD: I’m trying to let things roll off my back more since I used to be terribly stressed out, and life is SO much better when you’re happy more often. There’s nothing better than happiness, right?

QOTD: Volunteering with the Arizona Special Olympics during their winter games. The athletes had such a positive attitude and it made an impact on my life that I draw on those memories 10+ years later.

Thanks for sticking around. I’ve been steadily lurking for about a little over half a year and i think it’s damn time i start participating. I am very happy about your decision.

I just moved to san francisco from oklahoma and am completely broke and unemployed. But as soon as i score a job and save some change i’m going to buy a bottle of the Paolo Bea Sangrantino Montefalco and kill a baby cow!

I’m not sure what the best non-family thing i’ve ever done has been. I’ve given homeless people money and rides… i’ve done volunteer work various organizations…. but i can’t say i’ve saved a life. How can i save lives? Maybe i can get a job doing that.

I am so relieved that you and the Mottster are not going anywhere for a while. I felt like I was just handed a reprieve from the governor. I’m just starting to get into wines, and this show has a alot to do with it. I’m no CKC, but my budget doesn’t allow me to play too much with the different wines.

QOTD: I flew down to New Orleans on the anniversary of Katrina to try to produce a photo book about the city’s continuing struggles. Although I was unable to get a book published, I made some incredible friends, and was able to help by sharing their stories. An incredible experience.
