  • You can tell big bear is a alcoholic, he has a permanant happy glazed look in the eyes.

QOTD: The biggest change in my wine life is that in the last six months i have been forcing myself to remember smells. Had a wine the other day that smelled like the dried ketchup left as a crust on the top of the bottle. Fair to say the wine was not that good.

QOTD: Biggest change is searching out Spanish & Argentinian wines. I had a great cheap wine, Borsao this weekend. It was $7 and got better over the weekend. PnP on Friday night, not very exciting. Saturday w/dinner of pasta w/bacon & sausage & it was really good. Tasted like black plums & tannin, but a great wine for the money.

  • QOTD: What’s changed? I think I finally GET the old world French wines! I was a Napa fruit-bomb guy and now I love, love, love the CDP and Bordeaux… And I used to drink Beaujolais-Noveau and think it was pretty good stuff. 😛

I still don’t get Italian wines tho. Still a mystery to me.

Thanks for pronouncing Paso Robles correctly. Don’t you run into a lot of folks that don’t?

  • Whoa, way off on the prediction. But since you were rooting for the Giants I guess you won. But then again you were also watching for the commercials, which sucked, so I guess you could also count it as a loss.

Biggest change…I stopped buying wine…because I have too much!

I’m with you on the oak, I used to love the over oaked fruit bombs, but as my tastes have evolved and matured I’m often turned off by most of them.

Q – In the last six months I have gotten on the biggest Italian wine kick!!

Your prediction on the Super Bowl was very much like everyone else’s.
Who’d a thunk that Eli Manning would be the hero?

QOTD – the most interesting experience for me in the past 6 months was the Boston Wine Expo where I saw you! I haven’t had a lot of experiences recently, but that was the largest tasting I had ever been too and it was great to meet you and Sasha!
