QotD: definitely shrimp, but none of that fried junk. Never really understood the whole lobster thing. Too pricey and it just tastes like the butter that you dip it in. Maybe I just haven’t had a good one yet…

I think you are right about Portugal. We have been trying wines from the Douro region for some time now. Is lobster a shellfish? If so, that’s it.

The Elegance Hour….you know who would stop watching? Gary Vaynerchuk fans- although it sounds like Sir GV would come out! And really nice show today. It was great to see very different wines that were all thought provoking and were well made.

Great show GV…nothing like calling out the ‘poopy-ness’ in a wine.

Man, I love all shellfish…depends on what mood I’m in. Lobster, raw oysters, seared scallops, shrimp…especially in a paella…shell-on with the heads, clambakes on labor day weekend, stonecrabs on a plastic table-clothed picnic table with a mallet in your hand. It’s all good…except for crawfish. I’ve tried and tried to like those things but I just don’t get it.

Kick ass episode! So glad you tasted some wines from Portugal! I have just started to explore these wines on my own and trying to “trust my PAL” and have really loved the wines I have tried so far! Looking forward to more off the beaten path wines and value driven wines you might try in future shows.

QOTD: What’s better than fresh oysters on the half shell with a simple Muscadet wine, Vinho Verde or can I say it, lager beer!

Really excited to try the Carm Douro. I like what you do explaining the smells and tastes so I can try what fits my pal. P.S. The Nero D’avola from Morgantes you did a while back was alright but improved after a couple of hours decanting. Good show today!

Actually, my favorite shellfish is the oyster but no easy lead in to ballbusting there.
