    QOTD:Where is my Pal going. Well unfortunately is seems to be going old world and more precise I think it is going French old world, why is that a problem you ask. I am Italian and I should be loving on the Italian wines. Anyway more Italian Reds on the show GV find some valuesâ?¦

    QOTD: I see my pal beginning to enjoy more red wines, and getting further into old world wines. I have gradually grown away from sweet whites, never really been into chards, but then into new world reds. Hopefully I can make a good run at it.

    Nope, my nose did not move closer to the monitor. I still feel a little stupid from licking the monitor when you poured some wine for us.

    QOTD: I think in a years time, my palette will be more appreciative of whites. I have avoided them, being frightened off by what I think was the Oak Monster. But with your gentle guidance, I am going back for an adventure.

  • I use the Castle Rock Reserve Cab as the benchmark for over oaked when someone is having difficulties isolating the oak influence in wines.

  • Wish I could have smelled it, but did not try and sniff, run into to many times that I’ve tried to sniff.

    QOTD: No idea where my palate will be in the next year, it just keeps on evolving, lets hope that continues as it has been.

  • I’ve been huge on old world for a long time, so I have a feeling that I’m going to be shifting towards either sweeter wines or distilled wines that have been aged on oak for a while. Or maybe i’ll just stay the course.

  • Yeah sniffted, got sucked in. My monitor needs a clean down, smells bad. Kinda funky, southern Rhone-esqe.

    QOTD: Intersting Q, started out as a big, bold, brash cab sauv guy. Was a suttle flowery aromattics guy for a bit. Then anything crazy was a must. Now a wine for me has to be well balanced friut/tannin/acidity with a good nose too. Am leaning towards bigger wines again in terms of structure but really love some age in bottle. Then again might change on a whim, my mood, the weather, if Joba is going to be a starter or bullpen, who knows. The one thing i do know is that there will be a wine that will suit me.

  • The store I work at in CT focuses a lot on mid ranged wines. We have many at the $10 mark. Who says you have to spend money to get a decent bottle? Caymus can blow it out the back end…

    I love the end of the video. Vivian is adorable and will probably kicking wines tails in years from now. QOTD: Enjoying reds a lot more. Wasnt a fan of them at all a year ago and that has slowly changed as I drink more and better red wines.
