    Man I got 2 of the secret packs and I didn’t get one stinkin’ wrist band. I even put in the comment section that I wanted a wristband. Oh well I got 8 awesome bottles of wine!

    Yup, great show gary, I need to try some dry Furmint. The Weir experiment was pretty rockin too! You do seem to slip into pre-school mode for these secret packs, which I understand for the new people, just wondering if you do it on purpose.

    I would send you a picture but I called for the wristband in either july or august and never got it!

    Yeah I liked it a lot. Very informational. And no I have never tried Furmint (sounded like ferment, to me). I’ve never even heard of it.

    I liked the Mas de la Barben most. Though I didn’t smell or taste anything that Gary did, I found a very strong pickle juice component and spent a lot of time sniffy-sniffing…it was wonderful!

    I liked the Mas de la Barben most. Though I didn’t smell or taste anything that Gary did, I found a very strong pickle juice component and spent a lot of time sniffy-sniffing…it was wonderful!

  • I loved the show and especially the comment about “fairness” to vintners, winemakers, etc. The scores have their place but they are always in a monolithic format: bigger is better. I think that wines of lighter styles are just as deserving of high scores FOR THEIR STYLE. The fact that people are afraid of wine (it’s a complex subject) and they want some assurances before they lay out the cash make the scoring a fact of life. GV, I think that you do a great job of judging within a particular style and I greatly appreciate that. That’s MY soapbox.
