    Gary,
I am surprised at the acidity in the Freakout, Luna’s wines seem flabby to me. I will have to search for this wine. The CMS is always one of my favorite wines.

  • Rob

QOTD: Last wine I had was Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon 2006, decent cheep wine, not too bad but if it wasn’t for the CKC budget I’d say PAZ

  • Chris G

QOTD: Touriga Nacional (Vinho Nacional Estremadura 2004. Got it through Tesco’s as a brandd product so not too specific on the information. Liked it a whole lot! Love this grape generally..tasted alot like Advocaat (is that egg nog in the states??)
    Glad you’re back

Last wine was Caves de Papes Le Closiers Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2004, definitely brought the thunder. My wife and I loved it. I need to buy more and let it age to follow the maturation.

Hello, Mr. GV Welcome Back with a fresh episode…. Yes another lurker outed. I was turned on to the VAYNERNATION by my Wine Sciences Professor at University…He thinks you’re a bit nutty in the tasting department but Kudos to him for spreading the THUNDER…. Absolutely, fallen in love with the site, your passion for wine and total lack of pretense. I’m sooooo hooked I’ve started watching all the back episodes up to Ish # 143 much to the dismay of some term papers I have in the midst

QOTD: 2005 Sangiovese Sandhill Estate Vineyard Small Lot Program… Nice bouquet of ripe strawberries with hint of cinnamon, maybe a little twizzler action in there for good measure. Great mouth feel with strong red berry flavor with a hint of the shroom. Yes, my friends looked at me like a moron, but hey MR V says trust my palate and I got a hint of dried porcini, so I threw it out there. Solid wine part of an even better evening. I’d say it definitely brought the THUNDER!!!! Though maybe not the rain that follows…Thanx for breaking down the barriers MR V…. Add one more to the VAYNERNATION, oh and Wine world you have no idea what’s running up on You…….

    Glad you’re back GV!

Welcome back Gary, it seemed like you were gone for a long time.
QOTD: I was on a ski trip this past weekend in Utah, we drank alot
of wine but the last bottle we opened was a 2004 CLIO from Spain.
It was by far the best bottle that we tasted on the trip, RP gave it
95 points and I would agree with that.

  • Harold

QOTD: 2005 Domaine des Blagueurs Syrah-Sirrah. It was good but not thunderrific.

Last wine – too many last sat night my big 40 B-day!!
Masque resturant El Doraldo Hills Ca. 5 course paired with wines from all accross the world with names & have never heard of, special dinner by chef.
All wine pairings & food were fenominal. Tuna Tar Tar & Sweetbreads were to die for. But I did request vintage port at the end. Was served a flight of Dows (little hazey at this point): 1985, 1990, 1994, 1997 & 2000.
Glad to have you back GV!

  • WeisGuy

Had a 2005 Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel last night, and it, unfortunately, did not bring any thunder.

QOTD: I had a 2001 Rioja Riserva in Vail 6 days ago, but cant remember the name!!! It was yummy though…

  • Alamos Torrontes. It by no means brought the thunder, but it was a fun wine to drink. And its good to have you back.

  • QOTD: Pio Cesare, Barolo 1996. Excellent wine, perfect to drink now.
Good episode, but to bad about the wines from sw France getting so expensive, because of the weak $ 🙁

  • mgbrisbane

2001 Tofanelli Charbono – F bomb-y up front, good body, went well with the pasta and tomato sauce. Too New World for my taste, wife loves it, so there’s a little thunder in the house

I am embarrased to say that I have not had a glass of wine in a long time (maybe a week or so). The last wine I had was the 2003 Mas De La Barben La Danseuse from the secret pack. It was good, not outstanding but very solid.

I am so happy you are back Gary!!

  • QOTD: Drinking the 2007 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc while watching your show. Bringing the thunder? Maybe a slight rumble or two. I like it very much as a quaffing wine, but “thunder” might be a little strong for this one.

Thanks in advance for agreeing to taste the ’04 Saint Jean Du Barroux L’oligocene. I went ahead and bought a six pack because I was afraid it would sell out, but I haven’t tried it yet.

  • Birm

Welcome back Gary!!! Waypoint To Kalon was the last bottle I had…i felt it was quite thunderous!

Welcome back! Nice show, always nice to get a taste of GARY V.

QOTD: The last wine I had was the Byron Chardonnay Santa Maria Valley 2005. I have to admit the 93 WS rating, and the relatively low price point (only $18 at moraswines.com) attracted me to this wine. Not sure if it deserves a 93, but it is pretty darn good. Better after about an hour open actually.

  • BringTheNose

GARY V BACK IN THE HIZZOUSE!

Every time I watch an episode I get this sudden hankering for vino!

The wine I am enjoying at this moment is the Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon. It is bringing the thunder and is an awesome QPR go to wine. I am very glad that you are back Gary. You really need to get yourself cloned for when you go out of town.

Coincidentally (not) the last wine I had was the 06 Castell-Roig Xarel-lo, and it did, indeed, bring da thunder.
