  • Hey GV,

Great show. I love it when you take the show in different directions. I’ve only had one Barbera to date so it looks like it’s time to revisit and get another opinion.

Can’t wait to see you when you visit Boston for the book tour. My advice? Do it at the Borders downtown. You’ll absolutely draw a big crowd.

QOTD – Hands down SEINFELD. Not only did my family and I watch it while it was on, we bought all of the DVD’s and I swear on my future children that we watch at least 2 episodes per night.

I like it, Barbera!! One of my favorites, when you get a chance try some California ones from the Amador, Fair Play and El Dorado County areas, there are some great values in these areas!

I really like that you will be trying stuff that is more available. And you are right, Barbera vs Chianti is a no brainer, Barbarea all day long and twice on Sunday!

Hey, Dave Winfield was a STUD! I just saw him on a show and he is still in shape! I like that you pulled that out, I was a fan of his!

QOTD: I’m going old school since you said all-time! Two shows, Big Valley and The BIonic Man!! It’s just funny that Lee Majors was in both of them.

Barbera: I’ve picked it, fermented it and almost tossed it 2 months later. So acidic, so tart…this grape needs TIME. And, experience in the vinification. It’s not economically viable for California vintners, so you don’t see it often. But, when you do, and it’s aged for a couple years in barrels with a moderate amount of oak, the wine is a great late afternoon pleasure in warm weather. It’s definitely a ‘red’ with all the fruit and tannics, but it’s also acidic and thirst-quenching enough for a picnic. Enjoy this ‘summer red,’ as the Italians do.

In the pumpkin, well we all saw you put a copy of the book in the pumpkin. So there.

QOTD. I thought you were going to ask us for our all-time favorite Barbera. That would have been easier to answer. All-time favorite TV show? I’m not sure, but I’m a big fan of Battlestar Galactica.

I like Barbera’s and therefore this show was in the zone.
QOTD – Seinfeld by a mile, followed perhaps by All in the Family.

Looney Toons hands down. I’ve been watching it since I was 5 years old waking up at six o’clock on Saturday to watch all the cartoons: Looney Toons, GI Joe, Mask, Tranzorzee (anyone remember Aphrodite A?!), Thunder Cats, He-Man/She-ra, Care Bears, Gummi Bears (bouncing here and there and eeeeverywhere…), etc. But even now, after the Simpsons, Prison Break, CSI: New York, Law and Order and all these other fantastic shows, Looney Toons alone can make me laugh and forget the life around me for 30 minutes and take me back to when I was still in “zip-up from the foot” one-piece pajamas sitting a nose length from the TV hoping my parents wouldn’t hear the TV and tell me to shut it off so early in the morning.

    I love the Barbera, too!!

It’s a trick, the pumpkin bucket has absolutely nothing in it.

I freaking love barbera. I’ve been rocking the barbera hard ever since I got a quartino of it at Otto at 19 with my fake id. It has great acidity, goes perfectly with food, and viable on a CKC budget–what’s not to like.

QOTD: I don’t really watch much tv. WLTV is much better.

QOTD: That’s a hard one, but in the end I’m going to go with the Simpsons.

That was a great show for my 20th birthday. Just one more year.
