Qotd:Can’t pick 1 but the Lucien Albrecht Cuvee romanus is a helluva QPR. I’d pay double the price for it

Sad to say…but I have never ventured in to the realm of Pinot Gris. How lame am I?

I’ve never had a Pinot Gris, but leaving a comment to hear what’s later.

QOTD: I hosted a white Italian wine tasting at my house a long time ago that included several Pinot Grigios. I wasn’t that impressed with them, so I haven’t been back to try PG again. Yes, I know the mantra, that I need to keep trying them. Your descriptions of the two on the table today made me want to go back and try some.

Never had a Pinot Gris. I’m looking forward to trying one, though.

Also, Gary, I really like that the head-to-heads let you drop a little knowledge about a specific kind of wine. It’s nice to get some knowledge along with the entertainment. Thanks.

QOTD: Had mostly California Pinot Gris, and overall thought they were half-pregnant chards (Dry Valley Vineyards, Luna, etc). Can’t remember the last Italian Pinot Grigio I’ve had, and I’m DYING to try an Alsacian one after seeing your reaction to the Binner. Heck, I just flat out need to try a boatload of French wine this summer. You should do an episode with a dozen summertime French picks. That would be awesome!!!!

I love trimbach Pinot Gris. Very crisp, easy to drink, nice balance…
Had Devinci Pinot Grigio as yesterday and was very surprised how much I liked it, pear and apple flavors, very simular to a New Zealand Sau. Blanc.

Have had lots of generic Italian Pinot Grigio. Love a number of Oregon Pinot Gris’ and need to check out the Austrian gris’ as well.

Recently had the Elk Cove and enjoyed it. Good everyday drinking wine is the A to Z.

    Hey Gary,

Sorry to correct you on this, since you are going to Portland pretty soon, I thought I should mention this to you.

The “gon” in “Oregon” is not pronounced like “gone,” but more like the “gon” in “dragon.”

QOTD: Sineann stands out. Also liked Ponzi–that one being more Viognier-like because of the oilyness and a little heavier like a Chard.

My wife and I really like Pinot Grigio’s but have never had a Pinot Gris.

My parents and sister are coming up for the long weekend and they are sort of wine people (or at least a lot more so than my wife and I) so maybe we will take this opportunity to try a Pinot Gris.

QOTD: Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio are in my frig regularly. If I try one that isn’t so good, I make it into a Sangria with a little punch of Triple Sec, Mango rum, and fruit. hmm.

Good show, Gary and Mott. You’ve had like 4 good shows in a row! Whazzupwidat?
