  • I might be the first one here to tell you that I don’t give a @#{ about wine to be honest 😮

But I do like your performance and think you’re a great marketer ! 95% of the folks that are running a biz on the net are busy with seo, getting links to see good positions in the searchresults…but you opened my eyes funny gary 😮

You have another fan…can you send me a signed T-shirt to belgium 😮

    Keep on rocking man !

QOTD: Not wine actually, spirit. Aperol is my new fav drink. Had it when I was Italy, and bought some when i got back home. I mix it with prosecco or sometimes a moscato d’asti.

  • QOTD – had a bottle of this winery (and ths is a pathetic way to remember it) that was partially owned by mario batali. A red blend i think, and it was a knockout for around $15. His name wasn’t on the bottle or label at all, he co-owns the vineyard I guess – wish i had more info. went to get more and it was all gone.

for something you can find in the supermarket (couldn’t believe it) i just had a Tomoresca chard that was impressive for $10 (unoaked) and I’ve had a red blend they make, in a restaurant recently, that I thought was a pretty nice QPR.

  • QOTD – I’ve only had one Italian wine, and I loved it! It was a 2006 Shiraz Nero d’Avola from Boccantino. Very dry, with great earthy tones and wonderful fruit. I got it for about $11, and it was WELL worth every penny.

Also, since we’re talking cheese, I’m going to suggest that EVERYONE go out there and try red elderberry wine cheddar. I had some from England, though there are some producers in North America as well. It’s an amazing cheese, very sharp, with a bright fruit finish.

I tried a sfursat wine for the first time about 6 weeks ago and really fell in love with it (Nino Negri Valtellina Sfursat). Nebbiolo grapes done amarone style — what’s not to like?! 🙂

QOTD: I recently tried my first aglianico and was absolutely blown away. I seem to be wanting mouth-shredding dry wines lately, and this one didn’t disappoint. 2005 Casa Vinicola Michele Alois Taurasi Campole

  • QOTD: Recently had some nice Gavi’s. Feel like they offer a nice alternative to the typical pinot grigio’s that are mass-marketed out of Italy.

  • I love finding out about new varieties, especially when theres a cool process involved in the production. Good show.
